Padres win one, need four more
One at a time, boys. One at a time.
Have I told you that Will Venable is my favorite? Probably only since Spring Training.
When I heard he'd be in the lineup tonight, I was a little worried that he would be playing hurt because he wouldn't want to let his team down, a la Jake Peavy playing blind that one time or playing with a broken rib that other time.
We don't need that kind of manliness.
Instead, that worry was thrown out the muthaf_ckin' window with some amazing defense by my boy. Throw up some defensive highlights. Be a force on offense. All in a day's work.
All that he has to do to finish out my admiration of him is to hit for the cycle in one of these last four games. He will do it. He's just that way.
Oh and the Padres won the game.

It's almost like it's saying: "Pucker up, Chris Young, and plant one here. This kid saved your ass."
Ehhhh, I don't deserve a signature...
I think the surprise Chicken appearance helped, too
Like when he threw the whammy on Wells, and Ludwick roped a double. :-)
Ehhhh, I don't deserve a signature...
Yes and it really seemed to get the crowed into it.
Seen the Chicken twice this season and both times there was a great energy in the stands.

I'm having trouble ordering tickets
using the GASLAMP code to tomorrow’s game. Any ideas?
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
Worked for me too but that was last week.
Tip for next season: when in doubt just start throwing codes at that thing. Over the course of the season my friends and I have benefitted from codes for Walmart, Coke, Miller, Bud, Spawar, Qcomm, Teacher, Transit, Sbux, SDcounty etc. At one point this season I had guessed about 20 working codes. Gaslamp has definitely been the best deal.

I think you have to start at padres.com/promo and work your way from there, rather than putting it in after picking tickets.

Welcome back Chris Young! He's been a blessing. Latos is gassed!

DEAR DIAMONDBACKS
I have NEVER asked you for anything…. EVER.
But, I am asking you for something today. PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE beat the Giants. Just do it one more time.
Thank You,
Sincerely,

DEAR PHILLIES,
I know, that you are wondering who the heck I am, but I have a simple request. Since you are the most god-like team in baseball, PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE beat the @# out of the Braves. Hardcore. Just do it. Sweep them.
Sincerely,
Zen Blade, Padres Fan (the Padres are a baseball team from the west coast)

Dear Padres,
It has been a long season. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE WIN. WIN EVERY GAME LEFT. Use some sort of time machine and win eight games, but more importantly, win today. Beat the Cubs. PLEASE.
Sincerely,
Zen Blade,
One of your fans (no, I have not been to Petco this year, but I did see you in Atlanta, where I live)

Never?
You didn’t ask the Diamondbacks to win the last two days? Slacker.
Obviously we have to win then it would be a blessing if the Dback could win one.

I would feel a lot better
if the Padres and D’bags could collaborate on cutting the deficit to 1 game today.
3 out of 4 still gets us a 163rd game
but i want sweepy cakes.

If we are still 2 games back going into this weekend
it’s a sweep or nothing.

Great game!
Loved the chicken, and a great atmosphere in the stands. People really seemed into, chanting Beat the Cubs. 29K for a Wednesday night game is not bad.
Will post a short write up on the season ticket holder event before the game.

Excuse the language
but holy shit that was a great catch. I was there last night and didn’t think Venable was going to get there. Best catch since Finley stole a homer at the Q 12 years ago.
