San Diego Padres Fan Confidence Poll: 9/27/2010
Over the last week the Padres went Loss-Win-Win-Loss-Win-Win-Loss. What comes next in this series? It's like one of those SAT questions where they ask you to look at a pattern and determine the next number in the series. I was never very good at standardized tests so I'll let you figure that one out.
My confidence has increased with the back to back series wins but more importantly the Padres are simply playing better baseball. In my mind they aren't completely back to where they were earlier in the season but they don't have to be. They just have to win these last 7 games of the regular season.
The rules are simple. On a scale of 0 to 10, 0 being no confidence at all, 10 being absolute confidence, How confident are you in the San Diego Padres organization?
"Confidence" is just about anything you want to interpret it as. The front office, the future prospects, the play on the field, the park, etc etc etc

No more waffling. No more bipolarness. Every other team might as well lay down, because the Padres aren’t stopping.

I am confident in the team. I enjoy watching them play for the most part. I would probably be at an 8 if Mujica played elsewhere.

On a semi-related note
Been talking to multiple people at work who at best could be described as casual Padres fans (but not necessarily tourists since they have no other baseball allegiances) and they are all very excited about this week.
Maybe even more so because it takes their mind off of the Chargers.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.
Bolts from the Blue - General Manager: It is what it isn't
There have been a handful of people talking to me about the Padres.
I’m the only real die-hard in the office. My boss is going to Thursday’s game (hopefully not just because he’s from Chicago).

And I just got heckled by a coworker who says the Twins will win and the Padres will tank.
But what does he know? He’s a hick from Minnesota who thinks the American Fake Baseball League is better.
You should ask him how well Morneau is going to perform in the post-season
OH WAIT
(Is that too mean?)
Ehhhh, I don't deserve a signature...

Biggest week for the San Diego Padres. Mat Latos neesd to bounce back, Jon needs to sop being such a Judy, and i’m at my wits end with Ludwick. If he can’t start producing within this crucial week, he has no business wearing a Padre uniform next year.

No need to do the math on that....
I know where you’re going.
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
Oh I did the math
And I liked it

Remember in 1994, as the Padres needed to sweep the Doyers to win the West in the fnail three games, and succeeded with a 2-RBI hit from our best player’s brother?
Well, if we need a sweep as we go to San Francisco, it is clear that Jed must trade for Edgar Gonzalez.
Wait
Does David Eckstein have a brother?

He's a hitting coach somewhere.
And shame on you for even proposing this.

Isn't he our best player?
With all of those attributes that can’t be quantified on paper (or by reason)?

You’re right. In the clutch at-bat of the final game, let’s send out the idea of David Eckstein’s brother. Not his body or anything, just the abstract notion of human imagination that he’s there.
Think about it. His strike zone would be nonexistent!

Are you from a parallel universe where the Padres were founded in 1967 and did everything 2 years earlier?

1996
Oh fine, 94 Chargers, 96 and 98 Padres. Not only was I twelve, I’ve tried really hard to block out the non-sports aspects of my life for those years. Gimme a break.
pwned.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Triple digits all over the county.
Hope the Cubs are ill-adjusted for it.
My little bro and I will be there tonight heckling the Cubbies for all we're worth

Its tight, but I refuse to believe 1 losing streak will not get this team in the playoffs. Here’s to a cycle by Venable and a no-hitter by Latos this week and a 6-1 week. I’m all in baby!
Go Pads!

win 6 of the next 7 games
and knock the vagiants completely out of the postseason

Tonight’s loss really hurts….
We have to win 2 of the next 3 and then another 2 of 3 against the Giants and hope the D’backs can take one in SF.
Padres
Well … in the last twenty-five years, what team has made a worse nose dive and flameout coming down the stretch than my good old Padres. I’m turning in for the season. The true mark of a winner is coming thru when you really need to, and the Pads just haven’t done it. Go Chargers?

Is that short for “Wilmina”?
