Ludwick's three run bomb gives Padres much needed win
It felt like the whole season was riding on that game. When the Padres took the 4-2 lead and then gave it right back, I was furious, convinced the Padres would never win again. It's felt like the Padres have had to work so much harder for every win recently. During the good times we could breeze through a few games here and there. In the bad times it has been a struggle like we've covered in chains and trudging through the muck.
Ryan Ludwick's three run home run lifted the Padres over the Cardinals and lifted my spirits. Instantly all of the stress and anxiety floated away like one of those Red Bull commercials. The Padres needed that win. I needed that win. We needed that win.
It feels good to be able to take a deep breath, if only for a moment and know that the Padres did their job today and that no one can pass us in the standings. With a little luck we can be in sole possession of first place by the end of the night.
Go Padres!

That fat f*ck Fielder ripped a double into the gap but MISSED first base and had to go back.
Nice single. Unreal. I bet if there had been a f*cking pizza on first no damn way he misses it.

Padres
This afternoon’s game does little chances of the padres going to the playoffs. As much as the padres & the fans want to admit it bacause everyone wants to hold on to a miracle to takes place. Bud Black may say he is not playing scoreboard watching, but Mark Grant & Mark Neely keep constantly flashing scoreboard updates of the Colorado & Giants games.
No.
Just… no.

I love that song so thanks, but the key lyric is "we know that THEY won't win."
It’s not a song about losing, it’s a song about overcoming.

Yep
At least for now. Our starting pitching of late has been scary and it seems like CY was pretty solid apart from the wild pitch.
When does Luebke get his next start?

Just got home and saw the good news.
All we have to do is keep it close like this and then go all Chris Gwynn c. ’96 on them in the final series.

Going to the Chargers game
So I’ll miss Padres but I’m feeling good about a split today. If only the damn Rockies could lose. And when to the Bravos play the Phills? We need them to start losing for some insurance.
