Padres collapse in House of Cards, Lose 4-14
That's a good title if I do say so myself.
It's ridiculous that the Padres are even in this NL West race. These other teams must be terrible. The Padres ace, Mat Latos, was lit up today leading to the worst loss of the year. The other pitchers weren't so hot either. On the bright side the Padres scored 4 times and didn't make any errors.
You know how the big selling point of the team during the off season was how they finished the 2009 season? We were told how the team would pick up right where they left off . I wonder if the same will hold true in 2011. If so the Padres should change their marketing plan to make being a Padres fan sound dangerous. Stamp a health advisory on each ticket and brag about the number of hearts they've broken. It works for cigarette companies and guys who ride motorcycles.
Padres play again tomorrow. Not sure if that's good or bad.

This is starting to get out of control.
Ask any baseball player, any real baseball player. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning.

Yep
That’ll be the big selling point of the game today. It’s getting rough otherwise. I don’t want to give up!
Selling point?
I’m just hoping he can get through 5 innings without breaking down again…
Presumably the front office want to get a couple of outings so they can trade him in the off season? We don’t need any more ridiculously fragile starting pitchers on the roster, we only just got rid of Peavy.

Last time we use a replacement (Stauffer)
we broke out of a slump. This time (Young) we will break out permanently.
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
