A Padres win wasn't in the Cards, lose 0-4
Ugh. These games are killing me. My mental well being is riding on these games and each time we leave men on base a few screws get loosened. Each time we lose it's all I can do to not lose my sh_t.
Things unraveled when Tim Stauffer allowed a lead off walk to a dude and then some other dude laid down a bunt and then Albert Pujols lined a ball to right field. Here's what I've noticed about our right fielder Ryan Ludwick, and I've said this before, he's not so good on defense. He consistently gets bad jumps, can't get a good bead on the ball and frankly makes bad decisions when it comes down to diving. This time it seemed like he really couldn't make up his mind if he wanted to lay out or block the ball. In the end he did neither. Runs scored.
Oh also the Padres were shut out again. No runs on 7 hits They had opportunities to score early on but they passed on them thinking that even better opportunities would come along later. Then the lights in the club turned on and they were all alone with the janitor.
Remember when Jed Hoyer said that he believed it would take 91-92 games to win the NL West? How accurate do think that is? The reason I ask is because there are only 16 games left and that means the Padres would have to win 9 or 10 of those to win it. That seems a bit ambitious at this point. Not impossible by any means, but ambitious.
Maybe the Pads will take the next 3 games from the Cards and I can avoid a nervous breakdown.
Go Padres!

Jake Westbrook had allowed at least one run in every start this season.
Until tonight. Yeah.

I hope they prove me wrong
but the Pads appear to be toast.
Completely impotent offensively – station to station now with no power. Bad combo.

You'll win at least two
Lohse and Suppan should provide wins for the Cards. Likely take Sunday’s game too as the Cards are extremely inconsistent and in the crapper right now
Don't hate the game, hate the nerds!
takes pain away
must admit, Padres are such a boring team to watch that it almost takes a bit of the sinking feeling away, much like a slow working anesthesia or a double dose of a strong pain killer in regards to their sinking ship.
Ludwick has been awful and is almost no threat to put a charge into the ball and Headley is no powerless that if I didn’t laugh about it I would cry (.305 slg% in last 115 PA’s with a grand total of 5 XBH’s).
Is it brutal irony
or just really annoying that Jonathan Sanchez got the win last night for SF to finally put them into first place?
It's reason enough for the Padres to start winning
Rather than let that little, talentless shithead be right about something
Ehhhh, I don't deserve a signature...
16 games left.
.500 baseball gets you to 90 wins. Problem is they’ve played about .250 ball since late August.

I can see them
putting some wins together against the Dodgers, Reds, and cubs. Unfortunately, I don’t know if that will be enough.
Hate to say it
but the Giants and Rockies will need to cooperate and lose some games, too. They’ve been winning too much.
I believe in this team
They are making it harder and harder for me to do so, but this team has shown me that anything is possible—-good and bad (with the latter showing up as of late). :-/
