2010 San Diego Padres Top 20 Pre-Season Prospects in Review
John Sickels of SBN's minorleagueball.com does a midseason review of his top 20 (actually 21) Padres Prospects. There's a hint of gloom to the reivews as we've had a number of underachievers. As I point out in the comments, no one's list included Frieri and he's been a revelation. Even the best prospect gurus can't see everything coming.

Yean most of the Padres top hitting prospects have floundered a bit this season
I thiknk Decker got off to a slow start due to his injury but has come on strong as of late.
Who would you put in your top 10 prospects right now Wonko?
Luebke, Castro, Decker, Darnell, Cumberland, Forsythe, Sampson, Gyorko, Tate, Whitson. Not in that order. That’s the same as John Sickels’ 2010 list, but with Poreda, Williams, Rincon and Pelzer out and Whitson, Gyorko, Sampson and Cumberland in.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

How high up would you put Cumberland, Sampson and Gyroko?
Do you think Cumberland can keep up his production (OBP wise) in AA and at the MLB level?
Cumberland in the top 5, probably behind Luebke, Castro, Whitson
Gyorko and Sampson above only Forsythe.
I’m high on Cumberland. If he stays healthy I could see him as a left handed Jimmy Rollins without the speed and less glove. Although, a better comp may be Christian Guzman with less glove. I could also envision him as a Placido Polando with more speed.
