I'm thinking more of a 10 game streak
since we sweep the Giants. My estimation has us missing Lincecum – again.
How do you figure?
Lincecum pitched yesterday, will pitch Tuesday, then will face Padres on Sunday
And they've only done it once all season
I found that amazing when that was the case in early June. Now its freaking August.

I think we've passed our Eck dependency, too
9-6 since he’s been out (the second time)

Uncommon Sportsman :: Absurdity in play
You will always depend on Eck
Just sometimes less than others and sometimes when you don’t even realize you are. You must breath and Eckstein gives you air. You must sleep and Ecsktein gives you dreams. You must bathe and Eckstein gives you soap. You must feel safe and Eckstein gives you shelter. Eckstein is all around us. You just don’t know how to feel. And when you don’t know how to feel, Eckstein will touch you.
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.

Eck lover
Personally I’d hope that this 9-6 split will give at least some proof that we need an actual grown second baseman now. Yeah, I said it.
So a second baseman that is taller than David Eckstein
will, by default, perform better than him?
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
No, I just love taking a little dig at someone who is actually shorter than me
(Never get to do that enough, haha. It’s a cold world out there for short people.)
But seriously, it would be nice to have a second baseman like Brian Roberts or Uggla or somebody. An offensive producer who maybe has some skills maybe baserunning or with the glove. You’re probably going to give me some obscure stat that tells me that I’m an idiot or talk about team chemistry, but I really think that it would be nice to be like “yeah, he’s mad good just like Gonzalez and Ludwick or Latos”.
I think that as long as you’re a good player and do your job without being a sideshow, chemistry really doesn’t matter that much. When the team starts winning (and it should if you have good players), they will naturally come together at least a little bit.
And now I’ve officially opined.
Clutch performance by Correia last night
Correia didn’t strike out a single batter in 5+ innings , yet did what he had to w/o his best stuff to get the job done.
Sooooo Stoked
Yes.
Only the 14th pitcher to have won this season without registering a K.

Oh man I'm sooooooo concerned with the Padres!
I mean, here we are, exactly where everybody thought we would be… 34 wins in August! LAST PLACE. No hope in sight and Baseball America was right about all of our young talent not ever going to pan out. The front office has REFUSED to bring on any sort of talent and Adrian Gonzalez is playing for the Red Sox while Heath Bell has gone to the PHILLIES. OUR TEAM SUCKS. Of COURSE I’M CONCERNED!!!
Oh wait. First place? Second lowest payroll in baseball? Best record in the NL? World Series in our sites after 50-1 Vegas preseason odds? What are we “concerned” about again?

don't know about you, but I got 100 to 1
Padres are fielding the lowest payroll – after you take out CY and add Ludwick and Tejada

ME TOO!
I remember they had the numbers “2999” down on the field.
When he hit 3,000, they changed them all and everyone went batshit.
It. Was. Epic.
