Padres hammer Diamondbacks in 9-3 win

I can't explain to you happy I get when we build on our division lead.  I love watching the rest of the teams slowly disappear into the horizon.

Let's see what happened tonight?  Miguel Tejada crushed a 2 run homer into the Padres bullpen.  David Eckstein got on base.  Adrian Gonzalez hit his 156th homer to tie him with Nevin on the club's all time list.  Wade LeBlanc pitched well except to Stephen Drew.  I guess that's about it.

Oh one other thing.  Unlike most baseball fans I enjoy a fan running on the field occasionally.  I like the futility of it.  They know that once they step on the field that they will eventually be caught and thrown in jail, but they do it anyway to stick it to the man.  They're rebels without a cause.  It's when they have a cause and try to preach a political message that I get pissed.  Run your political messages back to Arizona and get away from our ballpark!

Anyways...I need to start thinking of excuses to get out of work early tomorrow for Throwback Thursday.

Go Padres!

A fun game to be at and ready to go tomorrow. Yeah Im the same way i dont mind a fan running out if they are just gettin their thrills..(I had 2 go on the field at a game in Arizona in 06 ) but the political crap, especially when no one there has any control over whats going on in Arizona, is ridiculous. Glad security got them quickly and it was just the 2. I think when the Dbags were in Washington last week something like 5 or 6 people kept coming out one at a time….

Same thing happened to me

(except I had tickets)
Loud drunk texan marine, his gf, and his buddy. Started in with the free speech blah blah, I told him that there’s guidelines for inside the park and I’d be happy to get an usher to explain it to him. He started saying something, I said “brb, usher”, and walked away. Got to the usher, told him what was up, pointed out the group, he came over and talked to him for a little bit. I didn’t hear thier conversation, but it didn’t sound like he agreed with the policy, so the usher left for about a minute, and the cops came to escort the texan man and his friends away. In his disbelief, he resisted and they threw. him. on. the. ground.

You, too, can make this happen. :)

i told the ushers i knew in the area what was up. and they asked if i wanted them to tell the usher THEY knew..but they had left at the 7th. all was well in sec. 113

After the bars had closed on Friday and Saturday nights..the Denny’s in PB on the corner of Mission and Garnet was the best place to meet girls hands down. Not that it was close, but we did not destroy them. We got 5 runs off of our two HR’s, they got 2. They had 9 base runners, 2 HRs and 2 doubles, 3 singles, 2 BB.

We had 14 base runners, 2 HRs, 7 singles, 5 BB. So 23 total bases to 17 for them. Yes, we were ahead, but we did not dominate, only in the score (granted, a nice place to dominate).

if his teammates had showed up, woulda been a game. but none of them did. Joe Saunders looked awful. their fielders looked disinterested. and they couldn’t put the bat on the ball when they needed to.

(and don’t forget Drew coughed up that potential inning ending double play that led to 4 runs)
