Do The Braves and Reds Hate Us That Much?

Atlanta has a 10-1 lead over the Rockies after three today -- final score, of course, is Colorado 12, Atlanta 10.

Cincinnati has a 10-1 lead over the Giants after 4 1/2 today -- it's now 11-11 in the 10th inning, with the Reds having to score a run in the 9th to force extra play.

What the hell, boys?  Don't you know we're in a division race here?  Better yet, don't you know YOU'RE in division races?

Still -- go Reds.

WTF Reds?

When I heard the score was 10-3 I thought, game over.

6 game lead again. yay!

I feel like Chris Young in Asia on a daily basis, just not as tall.

What's the problem?

These were games we couldn’t really lose that much. The Rockies are on life support, whereas the Braves are a competitor should it come to the wild card, or homefield advantage. Same goes for the Reds.

In fact, I can’t imagine how the Reds/Giants game could have gone any better for us. 12 innings, 25 runs, dead relievers all over the place and a Giants loss.

As it eventually turned out, the Reds game was a net/net winner

But it sure didn’t look that way after 8 innings.

Plus, I just want the Rockies as far behind us as possible, in case they do their infamous “never lose a game in September” routine.

We can't be afraid of things like this.

Watch Padres games, and Giants games if you must. But the Rockies and Dodgers have achieved what all Padres fans wanted them to achieve:

Irrelvance.

Magic number = 31

Ask any baseball player, any real baseball player. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning.

The Braves lost

That’s a good thing.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Let me put it this way

If the Rockies win 30 of their final 36 games. The Padres would have to go 19-18 for the Rockies to tie.

If the Rockies go 25-11 the rest of the way, then the Padres would have to go 15-22 for the two to finish in a tie.

When I put it like that doesn’t it sound insane to worry about the Rockies?

Or at the very least, if we play that way the playoffs aren’t gonna be a very successful endeavor for us anyway.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

I hear that

But I read “If the Rockies harlequin baby harlequin baby harlequin baby” before I stopped because those nutbags are the only team who have done something similarly insane in that one season that you know I’m talking about.

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

I don't want any piece of the Phillies in October

I’d rather the Braves win the East and the Giants take the wild card. It doesn’t really matter what the Reds/Cardinals do, both are 3 and out in the postseason anyway.

I meant for giving us home field in the NLCS.

Rockies were at home, right?

Two words: “Black. Rox.”

Somebody check the baseballs.
