Oops, that may be too English. Someone with a grudge and good access has just leaked the financial accounts for the Pirates, plus Mariners and Angels. I suspect Bud Selig is out there getting a contract out on them, as they've done something far worse (from the MLBs point of view) than using steroids/corked bats etc - they may end the gravy train of free baseball stadiums for the teams.
So it looks like the permanently futile Pirates have made $30M over the last 3 years. Not bad coin.
I think this blows the myth that all small market teams are broke, and that cities should pay for stadiums - even the Pirates could probably afford to build one themselves.
