Ken Rosenthal says Giants put in a claim on Cody Ross of the Marlins. This would improve them if they can make a deal.

Not good.

Is there anyone else we’re looking to claim on waivers?

Waiting for Giants to implode

I’m less irritated that the Giants got Ross to block the Pads than the fact the Marlins released him for no compensation or cost to the Giants. How freaking crazy is that it’ll cost the Giants only about a million bucks to add another surplus OF? The only good part is they’ll have to make a roster move. I hope it screws up their already hodge podge team chemistry.

I have a great idea – why don’t the Giants add Manny Ramirez after he clears the Dodgers waivers? That’ll further sink the Giants and payback for blocking the Padres.

We’ll just continuing to beat everyone on the field – no matter the team no matter the place.

Go Pads!

Would the Padres have been interested?

Maybe before we got Ludwick, but not now. We have 3 guys with major league experience in Portland, and in ten days the rosters expand. The Merlins didn’t release him, they just didn’t pull him back when SF was the only team to claim him.

Now SF has to clear a roster spot and pay him $1.1 million. With a release, SF would have payed a pro-rated portion of the minimum with the Marlins on the hook for the rest. SF now has 7 outfielders and they’re short infielders.

It’s not as bad as when the Padres got stuck with Randy Myers and his multi-year salary, trying to keep him from the Braves, but it’s still a dumb move.

It's 1:30 AM and Brian Sabean is drunk, horny and desperate

All theses slobs look good to him.

Our bitches are way hotter and already spoken for:
Cunningham, Willy Mo and Salazar …OK maybe not Oscar

The only late (nite) moves that make sense are to replace someone who is injured or bring on a big talent / big salary player. Another bench guy won’t help SF make up 6 games.
