PrintOur friends at McCovey Chronicles have really worked themselves into a real hate frenzy this week. After the Padres took two of three from the Giants last week, it's hard to find one blog entry or post in an open-day game thread where Giants fans aren't whining about our very existance, our fabulous starting rotation, our scary-ass bullpen, or how we've been able to shock the baseball world this season. Tonight's bitch-fest agaisnt the Friars is just absoutely beautiful. As my man 50 Cent would say: "Go 'head switch the style up / And if they hate then let 'em hate, and watch the money pile up."
Look Giants' fans: i'm sorry that "The Freak" is nowhere near the 2-time Cy Young winner he was back in '08 and '09. I'm sorry that Kung-Fu Pablo isn't hitting 20+ home runs again this year. And i'm sorry that we continue to scrap runs together and find ways to win games. Well, not really. It comes down to this fact: the Padres are, simply, a better team than your Giants this season. Complaining about the way our team plays isn't going to solve how Tim Lincecum has lost his grove, or how the team still has trouble stringing runs together.

In the interest of karmic balance...
…if we had lost those games to the Giants and then lost two to the Cubs while the Giants beat up on the Phillies, this place would be like a preschool filled with profanity – we’d all be bitching and moaning and crying and complaining about EVERYTHING. We’ve been there and we’ve all demonstrated our ability to be totally and completely irrational when it comes to our team. So I’m somewhat sympathetic.
(But better them than us.)
