OK... That might have been lucky. Padres beat Cubs, 1-0
Like I've said before, I'd rather be lucky and good. I'd 1 run wins 162 times a season if I could.
Jon Garland "mowed" them down. I say "mowed" with the quotation marks because it's not like his stuff really seemed especially overpowering. When you pitch to contact and get lots or ground outs, it really seems like you're just getting lucky when you increase your scoreless innings streak to 17, and you probably are.
The Giants have now lost 6 of their last 10 while the Padres have won 8 of their last 10, which gives us a nice little five game pad as we continue through these dog days of summer. I guess it's a good thing we like dogs. Lucky, I suppose.

3-legged rabbits are on sale at all San Diego Petco locations this week.
It’s probably just a coincidence.
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

Folks at BCB are funny
In their pre-series preview thread, they had several people actively wishing that the Padres would clinch a playoff spot against the Cubs. (Seeing that the other series is the second-to-last of the season, I’d rather be assured before then, but I’m not picky)
Total masochists.
I think being masochist is a requirement to being a Cubs fan.
Gaslamp Ball Game OT: "Makes you happy in the pants"
"Even Jedis don't stand a chance against our bullpen."
The guys a BCB at least have a sense of humor
A guy goes into the store and asks the clerk, “I’d like some polish sausage”
The clerk looks at him and says, "Are you Polish?"
The guy, clearly offended, says, "Well, yes I am. But let me ask you something." If I had asked for Italian sausage would you ask me if I was Italian? Or if I had asked for German bratwurst, would you ask me if I was German? Or if I asked for a kosher hot dog would you ask me if I was Jewish? Or if I had asked for a taco would you ask if I was Mexican? Would ya, huh? Would ya?"
The clerk says, "Well, no."
With deep self-righteous indignation, the guy says, "Well, all right then, why did you ask me if I’m Polish just because I ask for Polish sausage?"
The clerk replies, "Because this is Home Depot."

correct
However in Chicago, I imagine every night every where is Polish heritage day. The funny part is – they do serve dogs at Home Depot.

Super gay for it.

I'm super! Thanks for asking!

Is it better to be lucky, than good?
Or good, rather than lucky?
I say: Is it too much to ask to both be lucky and good?

From MCC. I like lurking there. The hate they have for the Padres is hilarious.
SD has a real tough schedule in late Aug/ all of Sep against pretty much PHI, LA, COL, CIN (who they have trouble with) so when we finish our rough stretch they’ll be going into theirs. Except they play for 17 straight games, that is where i think they will falter and go 7-14, while we have a much easier schedule with off days and LA, COL, ARI, MIL (teams we’ve done well against).
I wouldn’t count us out the division, just gotta play .500 ball against SD the final 7 games. And just gotta make it to August 25th with the WC lead and no more than 5 or 6 out.
Next Wednesday determines SF’s future, cause the Padres are going to play 7-14 ball after that.
This is a terrible thing for the Padres. - Jerry Coleman
Who do these schmucks think they are?
Jonathan Sanchez?

Soo you are saying there is a chance.

We had trouble against Cincinati?
Didn’t we go 2-1 at Great American Ballpark?

are they reporting that he is heading to the Braves, but needs to be confirmed.
Or
that he could be heading to the braves b/c that is what Joe at the bus station said.
AP could report my orgy with Glen Beck, Angelina Jolie, Betty White and Hillary Clinton is could happen.
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
Chicago Trib is reporting it as well.
Apparently he’d be cool with Atlanta. Deal would be for prospects and the Braves could move Glaus back to third.
I haz sad
so not the response to that comment I come to expect from you.
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
If I take one sec to think about you in a 5-way with Beck, Angelina, Betty & Hill I'll never get anything...uh....um...
Great…now I’m hard. Dammit, Mexico!!!
Hey, Glenn! How was your 5-way with Ron Mexico?
I’m not even allowed in Mexico.
Glaus goes to the bench
Brooks and Prado have third

keeping getting these
2) SD is playing out of their minds
3) there are 40+ games left in the season
exactly how many games do we need to play to show we may actually be good b/c 170 games isn’t enough for these ass clowns.

We get a fair amount on Yahoo!
Latos’ sneeze actually made the Yahoo! homepage, not just the MLB page.
