Gwynn Jr. hits walk off single for Padres win!
The game was won on Gwynn's walk off single, but pitching and defense played its usual part. Here's some video of Gwynn's great catch in center where he completely laid out for the ball. Cunningham also made a great diving grab.
This is easily the best Padres team to play in the Petco Park era and it is probably in the top 5 of all time. Search your feelings, you know it to be true!

It was funny when he came up to bat I was thinking about the one walkoff he had with us
Then John Miller said if Matsui was still on first he’d be a likely DP candidate, and I agreed. Then he hit the jack and surprised me.

I think he hit a couple of those for us as well.

Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
Another great finish for the Friars!
- 27-19 at home -2nd best in the N.L.
- 19-10 in one-run games this season
- 12 shutout wins this season – most in the Majors.
Best group of guys i’ve seen play since Cammy, Gwynn Sr., Finley, Hitchcock, Ashby, Hoffman and the gang in ’98.

Thank you!
I should have mentioned Vaughn, but Kevin Brown? After he left to sign with the Doyers? Screw him.

actually Brown did the Padres a favor
because he got injured and fell into the terminal suck
"I post like canned meat."
That's total bullshit.
Without Brownie….‘98 doesn’t happen. Period.

NL MVP Race : Glaus, Pujols, Rolen, Votto (According to ESPN)
Now I may be wrong, but where is Adrian? Sure his numbers aren’t triple crown worthy. But without him I shudder to think where we would be.

Hopefully Gregerson is OK.
Apparently he hurt his back. They better be careful with him.

I'm glad none of our pitchers are in the ASG
It is a joke and they could possibly get hurt or thrown out of their rhythm.
They are better off getting rested and ready for the act 2

Probably Lake Elsinore.
He’s an advanced college hitter. He should probably be in A+.

After going to the game today...
I am completely confident in this team. I thought they were done in the 8th after Berkman’s triple, but they still pulled it out. Go Padres!

It would be interesting to see how everyone rates their confidence amidst all this All Star nonsense.
