PrintMat Latos may have looked a little bit rusty after the long All-Star rest, but the awkward resting Saturday Padres lineup covered for him as they scored basically a billion runs. The Pirates only actually scored 2, but when you score against Mat Latos, he credits you with an extra run out of shame that he didn't shut you out.
Padres go for the sweep tomorrow. Just keep the pace, Padres! Stay strong! The post season is within sight!

This guy looked awful tonight. He has no clue when he is at the plate. Play Cunnigham, Denofria, Gwynn, Venable, Hairston before Stairs.

is Stairs, I agree (although maybe it should be “Old Man Out”). ;)
He could be valuable during the stretch run, if he gets a key late inning pinch HR (or even a sacrifice fly); right now he’s taking up a roster spot, but how key a one is it, since they’re winning?…
I don’t want to see anyone on the roster go before Stairs at this point, but of course it all depends on what move(s) Hoyer makes this month or next….
Apparently they really like Stairs in the clubhouse — his attitude and his willingness to teach the young guys. It would be nice to have him in September for the stretch run, but what to do with him until then?

A quick question though. Well, two. Is it weird I miss Banks? I think it is. I don’t know why, but I miss having in the linwup, especially when budbot puts Stairs in there. I’m excited to for his return. Hopefully it’s sometime this season!
And when do you guys think Whitson signs? Right at the deadline? Or sooner? It would be nice to have him start playing as soon as possible!

Blanks looked iffy when off-speed pitches were thrown.
But he’s big and has big power when he connects.
Stairs is just useless alot of the time.
