Sounds a bit like Gwinnett with the Braves, and in that case the folks in Richmond were infuriated.

But should Portland care? And anyway, Richmond got what they wanted with as the crapshoot Giants AA affiliate and a bad-ass nickname in the Flying Squirrels (that only rivals the Storm— close but no cigar).
