Hello my gentle snowflakes (thx Lewis Black) -

In my mailbox this evening I received a letter from the Padres talking about my renewal of my season tickets. In it, they state that to offer the most flexibility in payment plans, they will begin the season ticket renewal process this August. That's right, I said August. I'll be paying for games that will be played in September 2011, this August. 

Are they trying to renewals in before the team (HOPE NOT!) goes south in September? I think this is a squeeze on the season ticket holders for cash up front. How can I judge the team performance when in matters most, in September, and against the NL West, to gauge whether or not to renew?

Also, I think it's just weird.
