Padres lose to Rockies 10-6, but we're all winners in our own special way.

Even though the Padres lost tonight, remember this, my friends: It was a small sample size.

I'm not sure what that means. Alls I know is that I joined the game late and in time to realize that the Padres were being no hit through 5+ innings and foulweather fans were running around like chickens with their heads cut off yelling stuff like, "I DON'T CARE ABOUT FIRST PLACE!!! I JUST WANT THE PADRES TO SPEND A BILLION DOLLARS!!!" and I think I also read, "WAAAAAAH WHY WON'T THE PADRES LOSE MORE TO SHOW YOU HOW MUCH BETTER I AM AT BEING A FAN THAN YOU!!! I'M A LITTLE BITCH!!!" That isn't directed to anyone in particular.

Then all of a sudden they started scoring runs and foulweather fans were running away never to be seen again. That was a good part too.

In other news, I feel terrible for Kevin Correia. Edward Mujica I don't think has any excuse for what's going on there.

In other other news, when Will Venable is on the TV, my stomach drops like I'm on the down-going part of a roller coaster and, like instinctively, I reach for lipstick and I start putting it on like REAL thick. I don't know why I do it.

The Padres try again tomorrow. GO PADRES.

I'm back,

And I happily noticed the Padres scored some runs off Ubaldo, soooo close to making a comeback. Thank God the Padres didn’t get No-no’d

Oh, so I forgot to mention,

Today I was working the will call booth, and this guy came up with a Cardinals 2006 Championship ring on his finger, and all I could think of the whole time is “My Padres are going to get rings this year. And those rings are going to look twenty bajillion times better than that one.”
I love this team. The fact that they never give up shows how much they want this. They want it as bad as we want it. This season, this team, I love them both sooooooooooo much.

I think I was 8 or 9, maybe? We got season ticket to the Ems games that year! But I’ve been a baseball fan since I was 2, and a Padres fan since a few years ago when I realized that the players who play in eugene eventually sometimes make it to san diego, haha

Question about the season series:

I haven’t paid as much attention as I should have been , haha. The ESPN recap has the season series listed on the bottom right have corner, and it shows the previous six games as being played in a @col then @sd then back to @col. Is this true, and is it common in baseball?

I just woke up...

spent a weekend back in San Diego, was pissed that the Pods were not playing in town, also pissed that I missed any Lake Elsinore games, being that I was in Sun City. However, I was not upset about this game. THis game provided me with much beer, and much reason to wake up in the morning and consider my team AWESOME! even if thiy didnt win, they still came back against the best pitcher in the game. THey showed their gumption, and that is enough for me.

DAMN Correia!

Well, no loss is "good"

but this one was less bad than many.

- They scored 10 runs off the three worst pitchers on our staff.
- They had the best pitcher in baseball pitching, with five no-hit innings already in the books.
- We ended up two inches away from a very very good chance at winning the game.

It was a virtually foregone conclusion that the Rockies were going to take game 1, and we had them shitting in their pants for a moment. Let’s take games 2 and 3.

That was a damn frustrating and amazing game all the same though. KC should head back to the bullpen and Stauffer given a chance to start unless we can get another starter somehow.
