Padres beat Marlins, Marlins ace, 2-1

We totally agreed. We said, "Marlins, don't score any runs and we'll only score one run and we'll let your pitcher have his precious little record." But then the Marlins got all uppity and scored a run first, so then we had to score two runs and oops. There goes history.

I think the weirdest thing about the game was the fact that it wasn't televised. Man, I found that frustrating. I don't get to watch a whole lot of games on the tube (that's TV to you and me), so that was a bummer.

In other news, everybody else is really getting weirded out by the Padres beating good teams ("oh but they were slumping") and good pitchers. Maybe we're like, good or something.

In yet other news, foulweather fan still thinks ya'll are chumps for even caring right now and is ready to laugh at you when we fall to our .350 winning percentage for the rest of the season to satisfy his pre-season prediction of 70 wins.

It is an interesting concept.

First you decide you are going to fire your decision makers, because you don’t trust their decision making. Then you choose to allow them to decide how to spend ten million dollars on their way out the door.

I am going to be very depressed,

If he repeats the Arizona Summer League, next season.

I'd give him some more time.

He’s very young. Drew Cumberland struggled with injury for a while before finally getting healthy this year, and look what he’s done.

Also, others from that draft have done all right. Keyvius Sampson, for example, is sporting a 13.5 K/9 through his first couple starts this year.

I checked the game thread on Fish Stripes about 15 min ago

There were 19 comments, most not about the game. Wow.

So when do the games count again?

Did we just win another series?

and wasn’t this stretch of games starting with the first Philly series suppose to be a “true test” of us?

Just got home and it's great to see that the Pads took another series

This is just awesome. We keep winning and winning and winning. And we have our ace going for the sweep tomorrow.

How much longer of a leash does Correia have?

Every time I hear his name I hope we get Guthrie.

I think I realized and forgot the game wasn’t televised three separate times today, each more infuriating than the last.

I did that too.

The last time it happened was when I got home and actually went to turn on the TV. Then I realized what happened and punched a couch cushion.

I love the postgame comments about what was said on the mound when Buddy went to get Garland

- apparently he grilled Buddy on what his thought process was
- Adrian said they were taking him out so he didn’t reach contract incentives
- JerrHair said he’d been trying for months to get incentives, but “they don’t do those”

LOL
