I do not want to trade away anybody on this team for a mythical "big bat". If we keep this team together they can keep winning. I believe that.
Another great game by our Padres. Home runs by Adrian Gonzalez, Will Venable and Chase Headley put 4 of the 5 runs on the board. Nick Hundley gunned down another base runner. Heath Bell made himself a save.
The best play of the game though was Aaron Cunningham's risky dive.
"I was almost begging him not to dive," Headley said. "I didn't think he had a chance."
I got this feeling while watching the recap today that we will be talking about the 2010 season years from now.

for the Doyers: Carroll blooped a single
they threw in to second and caught Russell Martin ranging past the base (though he looked plenty safe) and the lead runner was waltzing down the third base line while the play happened. Out at second, run not across the plate, game over.
I saw the replay.
He was totally out.

It was an awful call. Don’t get me wrong…I’m happy it was awful and he’s an idiot for wandering that off the base, but it was a BAD call.

I've been waiting for us to be 13 games over .500 for awhile
so I could say that we’re now above .500 since the beginning of the 2009 season.
It’s pretty meaningless but I like it.

First off, they don’t have The Tony Gywnn (but by this time, they will have another Gywnn, a good one), and they are nothing like the 2010 Padres.” We will then go sit on the porch as I reminisce about the 2010 Padres and how I saw them win the world series.
