Padres come back (again) in the 9th, win (again) in walkoff fashion

PrintHeath Bell gave up a run in the 9th to give the Orioles the lead, but the Padres came right back and took the lead back in the bottom of the inning, like YOINK.
Now's probably about the time that Dodger Fan will complain that we have to face the Orioles while they have to face some team with a better record. This is the part of being a Padres fan where making obnoxious baby noises at our Dodger Fan co-workers is totally appropriate and probably encouraged. Me? I'm gonna go with, "Oh what? Is baby gonna cry? Cry for me baby! CRY. WAAAAAAAAAAH!"

Do you think they'll do the same thing with Cedric Hunter?
Or is Luis Durango firmly entrenched ahead of him on the CF depth chart? It’s starting to look more and more like his 2009 season was an aberration. Any word on his D? He had Durango playing in LF while they were both with the missions.

Giving the ball to veteran right-hander Kevin Millwood (0-8, 5.16 ERA) doesn’t seem to give the Orioles much hope of evening this series. Millwood has yielded at least six runs and 10 hits in each of his last three outings, and has served up nine of his major league-high 19 homers while losing four straight starts.
Millwood is tied for the AL lead in losses and has given up the third-most hits in the majors with 108.

adam jones needs to go back to the minor leagues.
he’s had half a good season, made the all-star team (based on that half a season, meaningless), won a gold glove (inexplicable except for the espn highlights, also meaningless) , and been crappy ever since.

It’s awesome that even when we’re down in the 9th, everyone still has hope, and knows that the W is a reality.
Stoked to be going to the game tonight and tomorrow. I’m expecting a pretty big crowd tonight for bobbleheads. I’m sitting in lower left field and I’ll be wearing a Latos jersey if anyone is around. Hopefully there doesn’t need to be a walkoff tonight since Milwood is absolute garbage.

that game was a ton of fun
Some dude tootled on a vuvuzela between innings once or twice.
In Matusz’s last inning an entire section out in right was yelling BRYYYYYAAAAAAAN and visibly drawing his attention.
I was in the pressbox sitting next to the visiting press and when Headley was walked on four pitches to start the 9th the closest guy to my seat slammed his hand on the desk in frustration. He did it again the next few batters and actually had to get up and walk away when Cunningham bunted his way on. Based on this reaction, I’m assuming that the Orioles bullpen really is as bad as advertised.
Also, when Izturis struck out in the 9th to end the inning, nobody could tell quite what the ruling on the field was and for a moment all were marveling that one man could be out on batter’s interference twice in one game.
Oh I thought they were yelling PADRES
