Latos lays down the law, Pads win 4-2

NEW YORK - JUNE 10: Mat Latos #38 of the San Diego Padres pitches against the New York Mets at Citi Field on June 10, 2010 in the Flushing neighborhood of the Queens borough of New York City. (Photo by Nick Laham/Getty Images)

I didn't really get to follow the game, but that's not important.  The only important thing is that the Padres won and metaphorically lopped the first head off the two headed monster.

Latos gave up a two run shot to Henry Blanco in the first inning and then settled down only giving up only one other hit in his six innings of work.  Next game starts in just over 2 hours.

Today's Gaslamp Ball game ball goes to jodes0405 for reminding us that there were games today.

I hope the trainers are keeping a close eye on Latos.

We don’t want our budding ace to get Prior’d.

They are

I wonder if their innings limit on him is a hard one

or if it’s flexible depending on how well his body responds.

Kiss of death.

Rockies just score in the bottom of the 8th, it’s now 5-3 with runners on first and second with no outs.

If she is, she might have a particular interest in the Dodgers.

I’m sure she would sport a Tranny jersey.

I was just about to post this...

If you go to the Padres page on Yahoo, there are 12 pictures from today’s game… all 12 pictures are of Lady Gaga.

I pray for her to die in a fire.

Wow... 2 pictures of the game

And like 12 of her flipping off the camera.

Not only is she a horsefaced tranny,

but apparently she showed up during the fifth inning, sat behind the dugout, got annoyed that photographers were taking pictures of her, caused a big scene and disturbed everyone around her, and then was escorted up to a private suite. That’s why she’s flipping the bird in all the pictures.

On an unrelated note

Anyway GLB can get rid of those “Dog Human Hybrid Ads?” I would rather see ad’s of festering infected orangutan genitalia than that shit.

Le doigt - part deux

In the words of the immortal “The Cossell”, “…. that scrappy little team from San Diego…” keeps frustrating the dogma that everyone on the Planet knows to be the gospel….“There are no baseball teams west of Hoboken or Cicero”.

Lets hope she/he has to repeat the gesture a second time, and for the same reason.

So...

The Padres snap the Mets 9-game winning streak at home, Gonzo goes 3-4 with an RBI, and Latos goes 6 solid innings, giving up two runs on two hits and fanned 8…yet the lead story on this game is Lady-freaking-Gaga flippin’ the bird to photographers???

WTF??

Right

Latos and Padres relievers retire 22 Mets batters after giving up a 2-run bomb to Henry Polanco in the bottom half of the 2nd inning.
So why are we talking about a Madonna-wannabe showing up to the yard, who’s pounding a few brews, and flipping off photographers?

by Jonathan Holmes on Jun 10, 2010 3:31 PM PDT up reply actions

Because we get no respect.

So after a mets LOSS, they don’t want to talk about it/

Why start Tony against one lefty and not another? And why play Denorf in CF and put your second best defensive CF in LF?

Bud must not think too highly of

Scotty’s range.

Then he's not paying attention.

Another theory could be that with Salad Czar in right, Denorf will shift over to help cover that area. That would leave more area for Scotty to cover in left, which would seem important given that their better hitters are right handed. I’m probably giving Buddy way too much benefit of the doubt there. Also, Garland shouldn’t be giving up fly balls anyway.

A-one, and a-two, and a-three

And that folks shines the brilliant light of reality on the Jekyl and Hyde nature of San Diego teams. First a Keystone kops-esque clown cluster. followed by the rarest play in baseball.

Is that the first 3-bang in the league this year?
