Enberg knows his best is yet to come - SignOnSanDiego.com
"I had my library in the ’70s and ’80s. Now all the stadiums are different, the announcers, my crew, the names of all the players. Until I get around the league, I look down and if I don’t see the number, I don’t know the player … his mannerisms. Those are the kinds of things that get you trapped. I’ve just got to put in the time to build that library." -

Nice podcast from 619 sports.
I have more confidence in the ability of Hoyer and the guys he brought with him from Boston to evaluate, draft, and trade for good talent and prospects than the last group.

No, it's not.
In November 2007, majority owner Stuart Sternberg made significant changes to his franchise’s image, changing the club’s name from the Tampa Bay Devil Rays to the “Tampa Bay Rays”
This is why we need a sarcasm font.
Sometimes I just can’t tell.
Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.
Agreed, I was unsure at first
But at the same time TB hasn’t been around long enough for people to really be getting their panties in a bunch over “Devil” being removed, because it’s always been there as “tradition”.
"Devil" made the christians nervous.

Why
does Clayton have his shirt on?
This is an environment of welcoming, and you should just get the hell outta here.
Is it me
or does the clubhouse always seem so desolate in these postgame interviews?

Enberg article
No mention of my 2nd biggest issue: Things like saying “good for Trevor Hoffman” after he closes a game against us, or “oh my, touch ’em all” on opponent home runs. Those aren’t mistakes.
The my biggest issue, of course, is saying things that didn’t happen.

His small mistakes are fine
but saying an extremely clear ground-rule double is a home run has nothing to do with “stockpiling a library” or any of that crap. It’s because he’s old, can’t see, and shouldn’t be announcing.

or not knowing a fair ball from foul
or when there is a force play or not
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
Or not knowing who the RF is
Because the team pulled off a double switch an inning ago only to have him correct himself after the guy has caught 3 fly balls out there.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.
