Padres lose 6-5 in extra innings. Watch your step exiting the bandwagon.
Is this it? Is our bullpen regressing? Maybe so. It was a nice little run. Maybe if somebody threatened to tase those guys.
- The Padres rallied down two to take a 5-3 lead in the 4th, but the bully gave up THREE tonight. WTF. I'm so glad we have a new GM that can repair the mess that KT left us.
- Clayton Richard was not good tonight. These young guys miss the veteran presence of Chris Young. That's my excuse for tonight.
- Kyle Blanks played good, but unfortunately talent vampired others in the lineup, namely...
- Anthony Keith Gwynn Jr. and David Eckstein went 0-12. Wow.
I know it's early, but I liked April better and my beard looks weird.

I blame Zach and Wonko
for there constant insisting that statistics and not “who I like” will determine how well players will perform.
Just saying, if I had my way, we would have won.
I think we should burn the two of them, probably in effigy…
Definitely in effigy

I take it you fell off the bandwagon

"Savvy Chicks Dig the Bullpen"
I think we are overreacting a bit
We were in position to have a win and mujica had a bad outing, the rest of the pen went flawless until stauffer gave up the homer to ian stewart. Richard had a bad game it happens from time to time we still are tied for first and play the lonely Astros. Let’s see how we stand after this series

I'll take that.
And he drove in 2 runs! Clayton did his job last night.
"I've got great references. Ask Drama."
Needs to work on his bunting though. He looked atrocious. So did Stauffer. Help your cause fellas.

Yeah, that was pathetic... shades of '08 and '09 right there.
Those are the little things that this year’s team has excelled at so far.

It's not Stauffer's fault.
He hadn’t given up a run all year and had (still has, actually) a 100% LOB. He’s a quality pitcher, but no one is that good. That’s fine.
I DO blame Mujica for being a moron. This wasn’t a case of regressing to the mean, it was a case of him getting frustrated that the ump didn’t call out Olivo when he thought he should have, and as a result started throwing nothing but fastballs which is a below average pitch.

Still, that pitch to Barmes wasn’t even a strike. Mujica just got beat on that one.

Mojito is not a moron.
Some of his pitches just rode up.
It happens.
He’ll be fine.

I was really happy to see Chase walk three times last night.
Despite his batting average and OBP, he hasn’t been walking nearly as much this season as last year. Taking three BBs last night pushed was walk % up to a tad over 8%, which is closer to the nice 10% walk rate he had last year.

It would also be nice if we could get some production from the shorstop position.
Jerry is just dying out there at the plate.

His...1...one...won
outing was super strong and gave me the false hope CY was finally healthy,
even though I knew he would be on the DL for a good part of the year.
I blame myself for caring.
"I post like canned meat."
Eh
It didn’t seem to me like Richard did all that bad last night. He had a couple nice ABs and the Pads were definitely on pace to win that game until Mujica came in and started throwing garbage, which seemed to completely change the momentum of the game. Thats how I saw it at least, I was only able to stay awake until the end of the ninth though.
Let's not let Richard off the hook.
He helped tremendously by running into one and getting a double. But that just makes up for him walking 5 batters and being all over the place for 5 innings.

Not let Richard off the hook?
The guy clearly didn’t have his stuff last night, but he battled and still was able to get through five innings and keep our club in the game. To me, that’s the sign of a very good pitcher… one who can still give you some innings and keep your team in the game even when he’s struggling. I give him a ton of credit.

Rally the troops
Dex-
Don’t let folks fall of the bandwagon so quickly! Help keep the troops rallied around the team for a bit longer, it may just help.

I'm always resetting the bandwagon
Anybody who steps off of a bandwagon just because I tell them to step off the bandwagon doesn’t deserve to be a Padres fan. I mean… According to me, there’s a magic flying bat in that photo.
can you please put a permanent bandwagon stop

That would make it easier for me get on and off – without having to drive drunk.
