San Diego Padres Fan Confidence Poll: 5/24/2010
I'm really excited about the upcoming Cardinals series, though interleague play seems to get shorter and shorter every year.
Here is something boilerplate for you to look at
The rules are simple. On a scale of 0 to 10, 0 being no confidence at all, 10 being absolute confidence, How confident are you in the San Diego Padres organization?
"Confidence" is just about anything you want to interpret it as. The front office, the future prospects, the play on the field, the park, etc etc etc.
I'm going to make a chart and I'm going to put it on this post as soon as I make the chart. In the meantime, pour yourself a glass of cool lemonade, kick up your feet and think about how you feel about the Padres.

freaky
that is exactly what I am at…7.19.
It would be nice to see some draft picks actually make some MLB impact (either by being a solid-all star MLB player, or allowing us to acquire one)
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
I wouldn't be surprised
If Latos makes an All Star team in the next couple of years.

I'll give you that.
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
Also
It wasn’t that long ago that we were begging the farm system to at least produce bonafide major leaguers. I’m thinking Headley and Hundley now qualify. Stauffer too if he can stay healthy. Might as well throw LeBlanc in that mix. And Khalil Greene at least gave us Luke Gregerson.

LeBlanc
how long until we start saying he is a very good number 3 type starter?
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
IMO
Pretty long. I’ll give you that he could be a number 4 though.

padres run differential. that puts me into the high 8’s to low 9’s.
9 still.
I almost went to an 8 because of the Dodger smell and that terrible first game against the Mariners. But then I thought about how awesome Mat Latos has been, as well as Mr. Scrappy, and I voted 9. I’m also not thinking very clearly since I just woke up from a nap. Best nap evar, just sayin.
You must have had dreams about Mr. Richard, then :P
The man is hotness.
"Savvy Chicks Dig the Bullpen"
Aww, psh, I wish!
He for sure is!
You know what? I think there needs to be a poll to figure out the new most attractive Padre since Kouz is gone. Wasn’t he the most attractive according to that face thing?
This may be a tough crowd for a most attractive new Padre
since
There is approx. 4 active female GLBers.
There are also about a billion active male GLBers.
I’m not quite sure what face thing you are referring to.
"Savvy Chicks Dig the Bullpen"
Good point.
But it gives the boys a chance to get in touch with their feminine side? Yeah, let’s go with that!
And here’s the post I was referring to. Kouz is gone. It’s time to find someone else for the kissing booth!
If the sport was played by women
I would expect the men to go gaga over the hotter ones. I can live with women getting their oggle on. It only seems fair.
Just remember, its a Padres blog, so try keep the comments fixed on Padre players.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

I havent commented about a hot non-Padre player in awhile
Not for lack of wanting to.
But for not desiring you to get all hot and bothered by it.
"Savvy Chicks Dig the Bullpen"
Um, yeah he is.

Attention ladies
Kouz was 82.5% attractive and I am 89.5% attractive, according to that website. Just sayin.

Think before you believe what he says.
A conversation we had last night:
jodes: Where do you get those numbers?
‘tec: my butt
’tec: isn’t that where everyone gets numbers?

Just sayin.
I need new pants.
I think that's a tad bit out of context.

that website is bogus
I am 97% attractive, and I am an ugly dude in real life.

it takes a very awesome dude to admit that , my friend.
you’re alright in my book.
I graded at 12% attractive. I wonder what that means?

I wont be around for a couple days
I will miss tomorrow’s OT.
But you are welcome to do the poll now. I actually started uploading some of our boys’ pics into the Moonjee Face Attractiveness thingy. I wont finish until Weds.
Quite revealing actually. :D
"Savvy Chicks Dig the Bullpen"
I gotta admit
They are all very close. Within tenths of each other.
I’m doing the bullpen boysies first.
Using my photos where available.
They are all higher than Kouz. But lower than ’Tec.

I like when we win series. If we continue to win series and stay away from getting swept, I think we will be fine. I think this Cardinals series will give us a much better idea of where we stand.
If I remember correctly, we have a mini tough stretch coming up then play a lot of mediocre teams for a good part of June.
All hail the Padres.

We will definitely know where this team stands in the next 30 days
vs STL
@ PHI
vs TOR
@ TB
We also play the Mets twice in those 30 days and get the Rockies at the end of June. So we should have a pretty good idea of just how good this team is come the 4th of July
I would have been okay with
BAL, KC, PIT… and not knowing how good this team is.

then the morning after just delete all my text messages and voice mails without looking or listening. That way you don’t really know what you did but you feel safer for it.

7.51 rounded to an 8
Pad’s lost .49 percent confidence with me with how filthy they have been playing defensively. We only win when we play Defense tight. Plus I still have the disgusting taste in my mouth from all the horrible Dodger W’s on our schedule.

10-----I still have faith in this team
two of those three Dooger games could have gone either way.
the first game in the Ancient Mariner series was a fluke; routine fly-balls being dropped, grounders bouncing off bases, and hitters laying off pitches that they usually swing and miss at.
this team is going to have its off days, like any team.
I feel confident enough to know that.

my confidence meter:
10 – will win world series
9 – will win division
8 – might have a chance at wild card
7 – still unconvinced, but they look decent
6 – will finish 500
5 – might finish 500
4 – probably won’t finish 500
3 – not even close to 500
2 – total collapse, last place in divison
1 – worse than the worst NL central team
0 – i’m just a bitter dodgers fan

then on that scale i am at a 12
which means not only will we win the world series, but the NBA championships and the stanley cup as well.
super bowl seems a little lofty though, not quite sure we have an adequate roster size.
i do think we could give march madness a run though.
"I suggest more bike" ~KSK

march madness
you mean because of our pitching? Most definitely we could make a run. I wonder who still has their collegiate eligibility? Not CY.
based on that designation
I would have put 8 or 9 based on your confidence meter….
but I put 6 (consideration beyond how the major league team is doing currently). So… perhaps some additional confidence meters can be added. This would allow us all to say which meter we are using to base our opinion, and then we would have an understanding of each others ratings.
