"Struggles are going to happen, because baseball’s a game of failure," said Gonzalez. "I could be 0-for-30 and I could care less, because it’s baseball. I understand that this game ain’t easy. It’s tough. My mind is working, trying to figure out what I need to fix, but I’ve been through it in the past and I’m going to go through it again in the future. Why let it get to me?"

  • Padres stymied again by L.A., still in first - SignOnSanDiego.com
"I don’t know why," said Correia of his problem with the misfired pickoff attempt. "I had the split-finger grip instead of my change-up grip because I’ve been throwing the split. I tried to go quick (to first) and didn’t have my best grip on the ball. But you can’t do that there in that situation."

    Cliff Lee is a beast...

I hope the Padres are ready for his devastating Curveball.

    I hate any opposing pitcher

But Cliff Lee has an elegant, effortless style that I could not help but to admire last year. The way he carved up Dodgers in Game 3 of the NLCS in a 3 hit effort… nearly brought tears to my eyes.

He has had some rough starts before

but this one seems to be more severe. I think the Brewers are not even using him much because of it. I wonder if he is going to be released.

its sad to see a great player at the end of his career getting released

    see: Jerry Rice.

HOWEVER, i am also not one to say that they should retire before they are damned good and ready. if they’re still good enough to get a roster spot on a professional team, who am i to tell them its time to hang em up??

And I am jealous. I wish I was going up there this weekend! I was going to go with some friends on Sunday, but plans fell through. Oh well. Next season perhaps.
