This is horrible

Denorfia will not be able to match Scotty’s production at the plate… Stairs better start hitting some PH HR’s.

Where is Durango?

Why this guy instead of Durango? He has much more potential, is younger, faster, and has similar numbers

by Nardfather on May 17, 2010 1:12 PM PDT reply actions

Durange is a defensive liability:

Has bad baserunning instincts, and only hits singles.

Apparently Durango's D is not the problem

All reports say it’s really good this year. The problem is his base-running. He’s been getting on a ton lately, but his instincts are so bad he’s been caught stealing eight times already (well nine, including the first inning of today’s game). The Padres need a ledoff hitter who can get on base but not one who immediately gets thrown out at second.

Did I not already?

He can’t field, he can’t run effectively, he can’t throw, and his .300 average in the PCL (a HUGE hitters league) consists of 28 singles.

Durango

more than likely he is not a viable major league player but either is Tony Gwynn Jr. who is 4 or 5 years older. Maybe Durango, who is faster than Gwynn can learn to be a better base stealer – he’s already a better bunter and also spray’s the ball around the diamond better than Gwynn to utilize his speed.

They are still developing Durango

He’s been developing nicely in AAA, and I’m guessing they’d like to continue to work on developing him instead of using him to provide a temporary spark to the big league club.

It’s a question mark. It usually denotes when someone is inquiring about something. Or, in the case of my sentence, that I wasn’t really sure about what I was stating.

I just want to make sure you understand how the language works… when someone starts a sentence with “I think” and ends it with “right?” they’re looking for some sort of confirmation about whether they’re right or not about what they’re saying.

I’m very sorry to have offended your superior knowledge by asking whether what I thought was correct or not.

It's basically the same as

The lineup we beat Cain with last Wednesday. Except he can’t trot Shrek out there, doesn’t want to trot Jairston out there and won’t risk Blanks batting 5th.

Just wait until tomorrow when he goes heavy on the righties and we have deal with Denorfia as a CF where he has repeatably proven in the majors and minors that he’s not major league caliber (let alone Petco caliber).
