Around SBN: Win or Lose, Boston Celtics' New Big 3 Era A Success

Padres win again in another shut out. EVERYBODY BACK ON THE BANDWAGON.

I don't know if/how the Padres can keep this up, but I'm going to ride it for a while. You know what I like about some of these victories... There's a finishing aspect to them. Like the feeling that the Padres really want to try and pile on. We pecked away at the Brewers yesterday and today it just took a BroBI to seal the deal on the victory. Also, Clayton Richard got his first win, which is very happy times.

So I guess it's safe to get back on the bandwagon. I mean, it's May and we're starting the month in first place. This is a no brainer for the next 35 days or so.

Padres go for the series win on Saturday night and since it is May, it is time for May beards! I'm totally growing mine out. We'll see how well that goes.

GO PADRES!!!

Yes.

Make sure we get Bro Hymn after EVERY win, not just some.

I remember when everyone was going on about it

after the Chargers game vs. Cincinnati. I listened to the song, and couldn’t for the life of me tell why everyone was so excited about it.

I think its a nice unifying song

Everyone sings along with it, when they play it after the Padres win. Which happens ALOT.

They start it of course right at the “Whoa oh oh oh oooooooooooooooooooooh” part, and everyone joins in, in unity.

What would you rather have?

I dunno, I just couldn't really understand why everyone loved it so much, is all.

was at the game tonight

and there was a definite buzz in the crowd. prolly due in large part to beerfest. i was a bit shocked that there was only 29k at the game. but hell, let’s keep this thing going. GO PADRES!

Even though the crowd wasn’t a sellout, for some reason each section had its fair share of fans. I’ve never seen that before.

beerfest was definitely a bust

I’m curious to see if they do it again next year and make improvements.

Note to the organizers: Cramming lots of people into small spaces = not a good idea. Especially if they haven’t gotten their beer yet.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

It wasnt exactly a bust

They clearly tremendously underestimated the popularity of it.

Mentor’s eyes were popping outta his head. He appeared incredulous at how many people showed up. I think they will do Beerfest or something similar again.

If they need help with planning, we could do it. :)

Every single location for food and/or drink in the park had a line or lines

We went from bar to bar just before the game started and there were lines everywhere.

We even went to the bar up in the Western Metal Building and were turned away because it was “at capacity”.

That’s never happened before.

by eastbaysd on May 1, 2010 11:53 AM PDT up reply actions

Normally I can find a place w/o a line

but lines were at least 5 deep everywhere I went.

The Stone line almost went to the seats in 101.

Finally

get to watch a game with some picture on it thanks to MLB Network. I’m really looking forward to it. Can’t wait until May 15 when I’m actually at the game. Beat LA shirts here I come.

I think tonight will show us a lot about what kind of a player Mat is. He got tossed around really good last time and we all know he wears his emotions on his sleeve. I hope he comes out firing strikes and throws the Padres first no hitter, but chances are he’ll face a little adversity before the nights up, hopefully he gets himself out of it and can get his ERA down.

How about we can shave everything we usually do, besides a patch just above the knee.

You know, high enough to be covered by board shorts, but low enough to prevent to wearing of short shorts, swimming suits, and everything else that makes life worthwhile?

WWTFD?

Growing a may beard is not about making life miserable. It’s about celebration that special time right before summer, when shit really starts poppin and you got no time to shave cause the Pads got no time to lose. It’s about being yourself and cuttin loose. Ask yourself “What would The Friar do?”
