Padres lose 0-7, manage to scrape together 2 hits

Note: I did not watch or follow this game in any way.

Rockies pitcher Jorge De La Rosa p0wn3d the Padres in the Colorado Home Opener. The Padres had two hits, a single in the 4th by Chase Headley and a single in the 8th courtesy of Everth Cabrera.  With 12 strikeouts total the Padres line up was simply pathetic.  It was like they were swinging pixie sticks and I don't even know what that means.

If the Padres are hitting this poorly in hitters parks, I fear for them when they return home to the blackhole that is Petco Park.  I was hoping a few big offensive games early in the season would give them some confidence heading into our home opener, but in order for that plan to work they'll need to turn up the volume over the weekend.

Clayton Richard gave up 3 runs over 7 innings and Sean Gallagher gave up 4 runs in his one inning of work in the 8th.

I miss Spring Training.

I'm gonna call him "Coach" Jonny Dub

I think the Padres are just nervous at enemy home openers.

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

Even bringing in the Cats

won’t get this team to 75 wins. But I’ll see what I can do!

Dude is a magnet.

I think he set a Padres record for most HBP in a season.

Franchise HBP record.

Next year I'm gonna be rooting like a son-of-a-gun for these guys and for Blackie ... I'm gonna be rooting for the next general manager here, rooting for the city, the fans, everybody. So the good news is it won't stay this bad.

Just like the Giants aren’t going to be second in the league in wOBA, the Padres’ won’t stay at under .300. The real question though is how much better can we expect it to get.

hey, I still think this line-up can be deadley--in a good way!

We just have to let the young guys settle in. Blanks is going to get better, all young guys go through a period of “WTF?!”

though, a few more games like this one and I might buy a few cases of Big Daddy(the best IPA known to mankind).

Watching that game recently

I realized how few players are still around now.
Only AG, CY, Bell, and then Hairston and Headley who were only on the team late in the season.

What is most disturbing

is the amount of strike outs in the last three games. I could understand if they were putting the ball in play. Outside of savior they all look like sandlot at-bats yesterday.

Headley

Is the only player who has a hit in every game so far.

Padres are going to be very streaky this year.

This should really help my manic depression.

I dont think they are giving up

I think I am reading this as a desire to maintain a steady stream of pharmaceuticals for us all during the season.
