Padres fall to the Reds 5-4. EVERYBODY OFF THE BANDWAGON!
Padres lose today, which hurts because it means ESPN was right all along. The team's an illusion! Still, we took the series and will still be in first place at the end of the day, so all is not lost.
I blame the loss on me for questioning Gaslamp Baller taste when it comes to administering nicknames. Also, for opening a thread without the requisite "GO PADRES". The late running internets threw me off. I'll take this one. It's all on me.
Notes in bullet form:
- San Diego, being a fair weather team, apparently fails in inclement weather.
- Adrian hit a home run. I bet people will start to notice this kid.
- The bullpen was in rare form today, and by that I mean do you rarely see a Padres bullpen blow a lead.
- The Padres continued the "Aggressive on Basepaths" part of The Plan. Stolen bases make for fun baseball.
The Padres get the Fish tomorrow. Early game! I'm gonna listen on the radio.
GO PADRES!!!

Knowing that they are poor outfielders
do you not think that they’d be trying to improve henceforth, and that stating that they are poor outfielders only gives them room for improvement? such low expectations should allow one to realize a sense of optimism knowing that the said outfield will be, and can only, improve as the season progresses.

This team is horrible!
I refuse to spend another dime on tickets, merchandise, or any sort of knick-knack that may have the “SD” inscribed on it. That includes anything from the University of South Dakota, which people may mistake as Padres gear… Talk to me when we’re in the NLCS, up 3 games to none. Until then, I want no part of this miserable excuse for a team. End rant.

Newbie
Alright, so I’ve been on the threads awhile…just haven’t commented. Figured the Pads were on a streak and didn’t want to screw it up by introducing myself. Might not be on many game threads b/c I’m in NC and I work at 5 in the morning. Ok, now that the lame introduction is out of the way…
Go Pads!
Welcome!

Thanks
Almost as fun as checking out GLB is watching other teams’ fans meltdown as the Pads put a beatdown on them. Giants fans were classic last series.

thats why I watch MLB network
"There are two great tragedies in life: One is not getting what one wants; the other is getting it."
I've been looking at the Padres
Top prospects as listed in most publications outside of the Padres organization, and they all have Donavan Tate rated ahead of guys like Darnell, and Decker. I know that the lists I’m looking at are totally outdated, but to think that they’d rate a guy who has yet to even take an at-bat in Professional baseball over a guy who has proved his ability after a few season in the minors makes me laugh.
anyhow, hey, the Rockies beat the snot out of the Marlins today! as far as a teams offensive production is concerned, the Marlins and Padres are fairly comparable.
here we go: stats read from left to right as OBP, SLG, AVG
. Florida Marlins
.323 .393 .261
San Diego Padres
.326 .404 .246
As we all know, the Padres have one of the best pitching staffs in the league. We dropped a few notches below the Cardinals and the Giants in team ERA, but nearly a run and a half better than the Marlins.
lets go Padres!
"There are two great tragedies in life: One is not getting what one wants; the other is getting it."
With Tate
I would assume they are going with projections. I mean, he is projected to be a mighty fine player someday (wow, I sound kind of hick ish there). But I agree, I hate to see him at the top, but that’s just the way it is. I personally am a huge fan of Jaff Decker. I’d love to see him at the top of a prospect list for once (I was glad to see him on the top 50 list on mlb network though). Unfortunately, people look more at his body than his ability.
Can we start the next game now.

Let's see if Mat can follow up his last start with another quality start
Let’s see if Adrian can keep the HR steak going, let’s see if Blanks and build a little momentum and not have a 4 strikeout day, and most importantly, let’s start another winning streak.

NEVER!
Never will I come off the bandwagon. You cant expect a team, especially the Padres to win every game they play. So our bullpen blew a lead? Once in a blue moon is ok with me, because I dont expect it to happen often. Were still in 1st and we are still riding a hot streak. Ill keep the faith as long as Im on this earth.
