Around SBN: Devils Beat Rangers, Head To Stanley Cup Finals

Padres beat Reds, 5-0. 8 in a row!

Padres roll to 8 in a row and their third series victory. 11-7 is also good enough for a share of the best record in the NL. It's good times seeing FanGraphs like this:

I know people get all irritated when the Padres don't get a lot of love on the tele-vision, but let's not forget that this time last year, the Padres were 10-7. Or, whatever, forget that. Do what you want.

Pads are still 30-1 to win a weak division

The other four teams are all between 2 -1 and 3-1 to win the NL West and the Pads are 30-1. No way they should pay 10 to 15 times as much as any other team in the NL West. I jumped on it for a decent chance to win big money at the seasons end. I know it’s early, but San Diego has the lowest ERA in the entire NL, while both LA and Arizona have team ERA’s over five. I am one who always feels good pitching is more important than good hitting.

"weak division"

The NL West is the only division in baseball in which no team has a negative run differential. No other division has less than two.

The D backs should not be between 2-1 and 3-1.

They are as bad, or worse, than the Padres.

I think the difference is that last year, even we (GLB commentariat) didn’t believe it was for real. At least this year there’s reasonable hope that we might legitimately be a good ball club.

Man, our rotation was horrible last year.

I just want to get paid to draw naked girls, is that so much to ask?
