Padres beat Giants on a scrappy Eckstein walk-off homer.
You know what's good to eat every now and then is the crow. It's almost as if David Eckstein wanted to be something more than intangible. He was getting sick of all the talk that he doesn't actually contribute anything that would be useful over the course of a baseball game. So what does he do? He puts the team on his shoulders. He wins games in walkoff 10th inning fashion.
I told you Eckstein hates the Giants. There was a lot of scrappy anger pent up in that home run.
Heath Bell blew the save, which is disappointing, but the Padres are nothing if not scrappy as all get the f_ck out. Hence... 4 wins in a row. Who's opened those 4 threads? Me, baby. Me.
In other bullets:
- Tim Stauffer has 2 wins so far this season, which would be great if he had made the starting rotation, which he didn't.
- Umpire called back a Clayton "Moby" Richard home run. On further review, the ball bounced somewhere just shy of the warning track. Your dad told you the umpire is blind, but did you believe him? No.
- The book on the Padres infield is: Can't field the bunt. I mean, over and over and over and over. Come on.
- Kyle Blanks caught a ball that looked like it was going to go over the wall, but since he's literally part Ogre, he didn't even extend his arm fully to make the grab.
- Creanium apparently computes kiddie toys to design wikis for a living.
- We are ABOVE .500! BEST SEASON EVAR!
- If this is what April is like, imagine May. That's gonna be SICK.

First game of the year at Petco for me
The SF fans in right and their Let’s-Go-Gi-Ants chants were really getting under my skin. So glad they got to eat it.

Omg.

Stupid swing shift won't let me watch games.
I gotta figure out a way to watch games and get paid too.

Am I completely missing the obligatory “And David Slew the Giants” reference.

Actually he does
But it’s something silly about a roofed stadium in downtown San Diego.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

I heard Vic Salazar thought it was boring
And Nick Canepa thought it was the most uncharming thing he’s seen since All About Eve.

Yes
But I can’t be in the section for some reason. I have to be up and walking around for the Padres to score.
