Padres win 9-3, reverse yesterday's score

Finally.

The Padres finally won. I was so impatient.  For a few moments yesterday I wasn't sure if it was ever going to happen.  But here we are and all is right with the world once again.

Yesterday the Padres lost 3-9. The team was in shambles.

Today they won 9-3.  Retribution.

I think we've sent the Mariners a clear message, just like The Untouchables:

They pull a knife, you pull a gun. He sends one of yours to the hospital, you send one of his to the morgue.

Except with the Padres, they try not to escalate things any further. Theirs would be like:

"They pull a knife, you pull a knife. They send one of yours to the hospital, you send him flowers."

From Jim Street's game report we learn what happened in the game if we forgot our radio:

  • Aaron Cunningham hit a bases loaded double that finished off an 8 run third inning.
  • Chase Headley hit a two run single
  • Mat Latos pitched two innings, walking Ken Griffey Jr. and allowing him to score.
  • Kyle Blanks dove for a ball (pictured above), nobody knows if he caught the ball.

If this was cricket

the score would be tied and still three more days to go! Hoorah!

Scissors cuts paper, paper covers rock, rock crushes lizard, lizard poisons spock, spock smashes scissors, scissors decapitates lizard, lizard eats paper, paper disproves spock, spock vapourises rock......and as it always has, rock crushes scissors.

A little surprised

No one really said anything about gallagher’s day. I’ve heard he is leading candidate for 5th spot and I think he looked (sounded) pretty good
