PADRES: Black has embarrassment of riches
"The team really struggled (in 2009) in June and July when they had to go to the bench and I didn't want to see that happen again," Hoyer said. "There's going to be injuries and guys banged up. The bench is important no matter what and some of the veterans should add some guidance. But I really see those guys playing a lot. They're going to get a ton of plate appearances." -
Bob Scanlan - Is Matt Antonelli’s resurgence for real?
"The true test now will be whether the hot spring translates into results during a full season. Only time will tell, but clearly if he is able to re-emerge as a legitimate prospect, it ads even more depth to the Padres infield future which is already anticipating the emergence of Logan Forsythe and James Darnell." -
Blanks kicks off power surge vs. D-backs | padres.com: News
Kyle Blanks and Will Venable each hit a two-run homer, and the Padres posted a six-spot in the second inning during an 11-3 rout of the D-backs. -

Padres win again " NCTimes.com Blogs
"It was just another step," LeBlanc said. "I’ve stayed a lot longer this spring training than I did last spring training. I feel like I’ve built upon September this spring and wherever I’m at, it doesn’t matter if it’s San Diego or Portland, I’m going to keep working."
Just a week til opening day, Nick discussed the team's expectations, why winning spring games matters, catching Garland & what he's learned from Torrealba.
Hacksaw talks to the Padres 2B who has gone from struggling the last two years to a red hot spring training.
Bob Scanlan - Thatcher’s cranky arm may be Russell’s good break.
"Fortunately for Russell, the cranky arm of Thatcher may put the lefty on the DL, thus opening up a spot for him. Sometimes a little thing like that can make the difference between a year in the minors or a year of major league service time, experience and salary. "
San Diego Padres 2010 Forecasts: Starting Pitchers (Part 2) :: Friar Forecast

Headley making most of opportunities - SignOnSanDiego.com
"I’ve done my part, but it seems like I’ve had a million opportunities this spring," said Headley, who is hitting .293 over 58 at-bats.
Unfinished Business: Only A Week Away From Opening Day!!!
"By the way, my boys have 46 stolen bases so far on the spring. Isn't that incredible? The only team anywhere close would be the Washington Nationals with 35. But man...who would have thought that the SAN DIEGO PADRES would be leading the majors in stolen bases??"

I watched Fox morning news with extra attention yesterday, the ladies looked nice.
Wifey was not amused.
Perhaps the biggest difference between the male and female brain is that men have a sexual pursuit area that is 2.5 times larger than the one in the female brain.

nice
it’s been a while since good ol Chrissy has made it to the Around the Mission picture. The more the better.
Great game last night. Nice to see some power from the team although I don’t think it’s to be expected every game. I was listening to the new guys on xx1090 this morning and they were acting like we were going to have some power this year because of yesterdays game. I think we’ll be better than last year with Blanks but I still think we’ll suck at hitting the long ball.
