Spring Training Game Thread: 3/28 Padres @ Giants
I was just looking at the Spring Training schedule. It's almost over dudes. The season is almost here. Savor these moments.
I won't have a chance to savor this particular game, so I'm scheduling this here thread. I woke up early this morning to my radio alarm clock. I wish I was as happy as people on McDonald's Frappe commercials, they have a blast explaining what a Frappe is to each other. Also I've already heard two commercials for Slinky's. Are they making a comeback? I know the Padres are giving them away this year as a promotion too.
Hope everybody has a nice Sunday afternoon.
Go Padres!

Ted is INCORRECTLY referencing a Simpsons episode
He said the “players’ ex-wives” section was at an Isotopes game. That’s not true. That’s from the episode “Dancin’ Homer” when he was hired to be the entertainment at a Capitol City Capitals game.

You're much more proactive than I am
I was just going to turn it off.
I don’t need them for Padre games as much as I do for Charger games.

I'm the opposite
I need for Padres because they play everyday, not always at the same time, sometimes during work hours, etc.

This.
I actually turn them off for Chargers games unless I know I’m not going to be home. Otherwise, 95% of the time, I’m parked in front of the TV.
Padres games, it’s a crapshot if I’m home or not
For some reason
My mind has the baseball schedule down. Football is “new” programming, for the most part. Do they play at 11am? 1pm? 4pm? Eastern or Pacific? WHO KNOWS?!?
Baseball’s easy: Is it a Sunday or a Thursday, or is the team leaving going on the road tomorrow? The early Saturdays might mess me up a bit this season.

Uncommon Sportsman :: Absurdity in play
See, to me, it's the opposite
Block off all day Sunday and watch the Chargers when they play, unless they play on Monday night. Then I leave work at 3:00. Since there are 90% fewer Chargers games than Padres games each season, well, I ensure I catch as many as is humanly possible.
I start with the assumption that every day, there’s a Padres game at 7:05.

What we need is
A prediction thread.
I would like to state my opinion and belief that a Padre will either hit for the cycle or throw a no-hitter this year. Thank you.
You’re the guy who said "pull the ol’ bobblehead out every once in a while and play with it" but forgot to mention that wasn’t a euphemism.

I tried to google what the official toy of California was
found an article where a city official in Santa Clara county wants to restrict toys that come with kid’s meals at fast food chains.

Did they
have a good/legit reason for it? Or was it just because they were bored and wanted the little chillin’s to be bored too?
His reason is it’s making kids fat. The real reason is because they’re parents who can’t tell their children “no.”
Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔
Uncommon Sportsman :: Absurdity in play
Yeah
that’s not really a good reason.
A few years back, they banned a toy in my town, but because the characters name was Kip, and the restaurant was about a block away from my high school where there was a shooting in ‘98, and the shooter’s name was Kip. That’s a good reason in my book, not that the toys are making them fat.
I suppose
I’d rather businesses just be allowed to do business, in this case. If a company decides to sell something offensive, let their sales suffer for it, don’t make the decision for me.
If Levi Strauss wants to make jeans with swastikas all over them, it wouldn’t bother me any, but it’d bother their bottom line.

You , ma'am
are from Springfield, Oregon? Or one of the smaller towns out HWY 126.
I moved to Oregon in ’98 the day that shooting occurred.

I’d like to see the hit to see if it was a legit double to left or if DeRosa could have made a play. Either way, we’re up 6 runs!
