I'm learning to become one
I can’t really watch it unless I have a rooting interest. So I’ll watch just about an USA match and I got into the Galaxy last. The playoff run was fun until the end, which sucked. I watched the UEFA Champions League final last year (mainly because I was in Rome at the time) and in 06 I watched most of the final WC games.

I mean Duke and Syracuse are very, very close in RPI, SOS, and most other metrics… but I thought Syracuse would get the nod for playing in a much tougher conference. Big East was so much better than the ACC this year.

Yeah, SDSU was better head-to-head...
But had some bad losses. New Mexico only lost 4 games and two of them were to the ‘Tecs. NM’s overall year was much better. Not to say that SDSU couldn’t or should have gotten a 10… but an 11 is fair. If the conference as a whole continues to get better (as it has been), they’ll get more respect in the seedings.

Lol 11 is NOT fair
We have an 18 RPI. 9 true road wins. 5 wins in the RPI top 50. 3 Top 25 wins including a top 10 win on neutral court.
For instance CAL is a 8 seed with ONE top 50 rpi win and didn’t even win the shitty Pac-10.

I actually agree with you. I’m not surprised that SDSU got an 11… but their numbers show they deserve an 8 or 9.
I think the committee didn’t know what to do with them. They’re clearly the fourth of the four teams from the MWC, but they had the best SOS and the 2nd best RPI (NM was 12th).
If it means anything, the committee selected SDSU as the best 11 seed. Woot.
