It was a silly nickname to begin with

This just proves it.

I'm the first person to admit that I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I'm going to be the last person to admit I'm wrong about what we're currently talking about.

88 is weird

i’m guessing something in the 20’s

by Kozak on Feb 26, 2010 1:02 PM PST up reply actions

Didn't he only wear 22

for a couple of games? I remember getting really confused because I went to his first start and sat in left field and took some pictures of him with 22 on then was watching a game not too long after and noticed he was 8.

from mlb.com:

When he returns, Eckstein will be wearing a different number — 22 — which is his wife’s favorite number and the number he wore with the Angels and the Cardinals. Eckstein has worn No. 3 since he joined the Padres during Spring Training. No. 22 had been reserved for pitcher Mark Prior, but it became available when Prior missed the season because of arm problems.
“It’s a long story,” Eckstein said. “I had never picked my number. I was given 22. But my wife’s birthday is on Sept. 22. We had our first date on Sept. 22, when she turned 22. And our whole wedding was 22-themed because of it.”

I like 88 for Blanks

Call him The Big Gun, or something to that effect:

88 caliber gun

no

if he has a bad game – then he is the blank gun or shooting blanks.

I prefer Tiny, Slim or Shorty

That was a close one....

I was just at Sports Fever in Plaza Bonita and I was so close to getting a #8 Kyle Blanks jersey but thank god I didn’t. It would’ve sucked to wear that when he was gonna be #88 now. He should pick a number and stick to it. I wanna jump onm the Kyle Blanks bandwagon right now!!!!!

by Padrefanatico on Feb 26, 2010 2:08 PM PST reply actions

That sucks

that you were at Plaza Bonita.

LMAO...

I love this website, I knew someone was gonna make a comment about Plaza Bonita that’s why I threw in what mall I was in… I"m from National City and now live in Kearny and went to Plaza Bonita instead of Fashion Valley. But it was a rainy day so Plaza Bonita it was.

What does it take to get a green post?!

Is wanting a green post too much to ask?!!!

I just want to get paid to draw naked girls, is that so much to ask?

You have to get 3 recs

People click “actions” under you comment then “rec” if they recommend it.

by Padrefanatico on Feb 26, 2010 2:29 PM PST up reply actions

I couldn't remember how old he is...

I thought maybe he was born in ’88 and that was why (I wore #82 when I was in LL & HS for that reason) but nope, ’86. Turns out, he has the same date-of-birth as my little brother, which is pretty cool.
