Padres release 2010 promotional schedule

The Padres just released the Padres 2010 Promotional Schedule which has all the usual stuff like beach towels, caps, t-shirts and floppy hats.  Here are a few of the cooler things:

All that stuff is cool, but I have to admit I am a little bit jealous of some of the giveaways that other teams are handing out.

Big League Stew says the Giants are giving out Snuggies and skateboard decks.  The Angels are giving away Garden Gnomes and fedoras which is weird/rad. The Reds are giving away Gnomes too and bags of Grass Seed which is very eco friendly and yet bizarre.

Three words:

EVERTH CABRERA BOBBLEHEAD.

"I'm a Padre at heart. Always gonna root for the Padres. Twenty-five years [with this organization], how can't you? Next year I'm gonna be rooting like a son-of-a-gun for these guys and for Blackie ... I'm gonna be rooting for the next general manager here, rooting for the city, the fans, everybody. I think a lot of San Diego." -Kevin Towers

You came all over your truck?

Did you have a special dream about Chrissy Russo?

Man,

I need to stop saying things in the heat of the moment.

Soccer scarves?? WTF?

First of all, soccer??

Second of all, scarves in San Diego?

This makes less sense than breakfast.

Football rocks

also scarves can have a pretty great effect if all fans have them

I dont see a Shirt Off Their Backs Promotion!?!

This was the Padres Foundation for Kids BIGGEST promotion all season.

I know they have auctions, Scoreboard Surprises and Garage Sales, but I was informed that this was their largest one-shot moneymaker.

Besides that, I liked it. ALOT. Very much. TONS.

Update

Just twitted by Padres PR: #Padres Annual Shirts Off Their Backs fundraiser is scheduled for Friday, Sept. 24-Thursday, Sept. 30.

I thought I would have to call somebody. LOL

Coast Guard night, seriously?

You know how many Coasties it takes to bury a man at sea? Eight; two to carry him out there, and six to stomp him into the mud.

DAMN IT

I obviously can’t go to the game when David Eckstein bobbleheads are given out. Will someone be super nice and give that bobblehead to the desperate girl who is a huge Eckstein fan?

Do they have a Tony Gwynn Night? If not then they should.

Like doing it the day he hit his 3000th hit or something like that. They could give away owners box/ special tickets to 19 fans for games throughout the rest of the year

If I pick it, I flick it

YES!!! Kyle Blanks Bobblehead!!!

Hey Now!

My name is Scott – I’m a hoser who is currently freezing his a## up in the Great White North…dreaming I could find a way to the June 19th Interleague game against the Orioles when it’s Kyle Blanks Bobblehead day! I run a little website that yaks about Fantasy Baseball & Bobbleheads called WaiverSharks.com & just wanted to pass along how much I enjoy your website.

It turns out the contact tip you had blogged about awhile back about the 5 bobbleheads was dead on eh!

With the Pads not offering much in the way of Bobbleheads in recent years – I admit that until today I was skeptical yer sources were legit!

Anyways – A Kyle Blanks Bobble RULES! When he hit that inside the park home run last year he officially became my favorite player in the Majors!

This is a pretty cool 2010 SGA bobble line-up if you ask me!
If I can’t get my hands on a Kyle Blanks Bobble…I’m going to run some one over with my Jake Peavy in a Nascar Bobble while it makes “vroom vroom” sounds!

I live across the border from Detroit – so maybe someone with duplicate Blanks Bobbles will make me a trade later this year?!!!

Keep up the great work!
-Scott
