Ryan Ludwick next Padre to be traded?

http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2010/12/ryan-ludwick-drawing-trade-interest.html

Makes some degree of sense still, trade whomever you can who could bring us the best possible prospects. Let's be honest, we are rebuilding so it does make some sense to tear it all down and rebuild. Don't see why we are keeping Heath Bell much the same - if we can get a damn good deal for him let's do it now. Idk, thoughts?

All the Ryan Ludwick fans will get angry. Forget about selling any more season tickets.

Fine.

If you’re going to have a firesale, Jed, then don’t half-ass it. Don’t pee on my face and tell me it’s raining. Go out and start your “wave of prospects” so that we can surf it to the shores of a World Series title.

Just don’t bs me about it is all I ask.

That wasn't rain?

He told me if I opened my eyes I’d see a rainbow…

Oh internet, what a wicked web you weave.

A full-on double rainbow?

hypotheticly

this years payroll will be more than last year. does that still make it a “firesale”.

i don’t know the definition

I believe payroll must be reduced dramatically,

in order to have a fire sale. Otherwise it is just a salary swap.

How do you figure it will be more?

They are not paying Adrian ($4.75 mil), CY ($6.375 mil), Garland ($5.3 mil), Correia ($3.6 mil), S. Hairston ($2.45 mil).

So far they have signed Harang ($3 mil) and possibly Moseley ($.9 mil).

Even if Ludwick and Bell stay the team would still have a payroll lower than last season barring any kind of major signing.

They still have holes to fill.

And now there's talk of trading Ludwick.

Which I agree with wholeheartedly at this point. Bell, too.

by Dalton on Dec 8, 2010 8:57 PM PST up reply actions

They just traded relief pitching for a short stop,

that lowers the probability of trading the Luddite

by field39 on Dec 8, 2010 9:03 PM PST up reply actions

Sure why not

he is more expensive than Adrian and not nearly as productive….

REFUND?!?!

"Well, it's just ineffable." "Oh, so I'm not 'F-able'?" "No, no, ineffable means it can't be explained." "So I'm stupid?"

He's the closest thing to a HR hitter we have

I really wanted to see what he could do at Petco when healthy.

To answer your question,

no, no he wasn’t.

I'd be in favor of trading for him.

As long as he agrees to show his birth certificate.
