2011 Padres Roster and Payroll update

Alright now we know more about the perspective Padres roster for the 2011 season. The question is now with Hudson on board, how much money does the team have left for a 1B.

1b:

2b: Hudson: average salary: 4 million (unknown breakdown)

SS: Bartlett (5-6 million in arb assume trade goes through)

3b: Headley (2 million arb 1)

RF: Venable (420k)

CF: Maybin (420k)

LF: Ludwick (7-8 million arb 3)

C: Hundley (420k)

P1: Latos (420k)

P2: Richard (420k)

P3: Harang ( 3.5 million)

P4: Stauffer (2 million arb 1)

P5: Moseley (900k)

CL: Bell (7-8 million arb 3)

ST: Adams: (3 million arb 2)

RP: Gregerson (420k)

RP: Thatcher (420k)

RP: Frieri (420K)

RP: LeBlanc (420k)

RP: Kontos (420K)

BN: Salazar (420K)

BN: Denorfia (800k)

BN: Patterson (420k)

BN: Cunningham/Durango (420k)

BC: Rob Johnson (420K)

Grand total: somewhere between 16-22 million in arb cases with 15.5 committed to the rest of the roster. That brings the total for the roster without a 1b from 31.5-37.5 million with the Padres saying they can spend in the 40's, if the figure simple 40 then the Padres have between 2.5-8.5 million for a 1B, if its 45 million they can have between 7.5 and 13.5 million for a 1B. Its still a crap shoot how much the Padres have left to spend on the roster without knowing the arbitration figures. Now the Padres could spend 5-8 million on a first baseman, it depends on what else becomes available as the offseason goes on. If they want o rebuild their pitching depth with minor league deals or not.
