Petco Park gets rave reviews as an intimate music venue - SignOnSanDiego.com
In a serendipitous coincidence with obvious cross-marketing potential, Gray’s final number Saturday, “Beauty in the World,” was used this season as the Padres’ “victory song” at the conclusion of each home game the team won. Her performance of “Beauty” Saturday featured video footage of the 2010 Padres in action. -

"I'm devastated. Jst saw my Dr. What I thought was a cold is a bad inner ear infection. I have a high fever & can not fly or sing." -
Randy Jones All American Sports Grill
I've been hearing radio commercials saying that Randy Jones has taken over the old Trophy's Restaurant in Hazard Center, which sounds good to me since Trophy's sucked. The actual website doesn't mention Randy Jones at all, which makes me wonder if he just became a partner and slapped his name on the facade. Looking over the menu (pdf) I don't see any RJ BBQ yet. ***Developing*** -
When Should San Diego Trade Adrian Gonzalez? | FanGraphs Baseball
"If the Padres can trade Gonzalez for something approaching $30 million in value this winter, they should say yes. The risks of keeping him outweigh the potential benefits for a team in San Diego’s position." -
Headley qualifies for arbitration as Super Two | padres.com: News
Headley is up for a raise next season. I always forget what "Super Two" means, so if you're like me and you barely care about this stuff but you feel like you should at least know the basics then Wikipedia explains all.
Padres add Ausmus, Jarvis to staff; replace Riddoch with Murphy - SignOnSanDiego.com
Former players Brad Ausmus and Kevin Jarvis have taken jobs in the Padres front office. They're probably answering phones and filing paper work. Meanwhile former Arizona State head coach Pat Murphy will replace former Padres manager Greg Riddoch as the manager of the club's short-season Single-A affiliate in Eugene, Ore.
Seattle Mariners hire San Diego Padres' Ted Simmons as front office adviser - ESPN

I think I should be proud
Because apparently, I grow facial hair like John Weisbarth. At least there’s others out like me. I’m not alone!
"Well, it's just ineffable." "Oh, so I'm not 'F-able'?" "No, no, ineffable means it can't be explained." "So I'm stupid?"
I can grow one decent sideburn.

The man's hamstrings are just too worn out.
No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.
Bolts from the Blue - General Manager: It is what it isn't
Yes that was the implication
Thanks for beating the obvious out of the obvious.

Obvious implication was obvious. But whenever there's an opportunity to highlight it even more...I'll be there.

Ehhhh, I don't deserve a signature...
Explaining something that everybody understood is one of my favorite things.

Anyone see Brad Brach is the AZ Fall League all star game?
He looked really good with some good movement on his pitches; he’s a big dude too.
Wonder if he’ll make it to the penitentiary in a few years.
Mat Latos is the real deal...Go Lakers, Pads, and Bolts

I haven't been able to see any of the games, just watch via Gameday
I’m surprised by Parrino. Looks like he either made a hitting adjustment or is currently riding a hot streak. He might be a good utility option in a year or two now that the Royals snatched Z-Wad away.

Looks like Paul DePodesta decided to go to the Mets :-(

I work right across the way, and use to go to Trophy’s all the time for lunch
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"

I was there once and wasn’t impressed. It was okay, but nothing to write home about.

I would like to go there when they start serving RJs barbeque.

Joe Morgan and John Miller
gone from ESPN Sunday Night Baseball

I like John Miller
but I could not be more happy that I don’t have to listen to Joe Morgan’s idiot analysis every Sunday night. Good riddance.
