What were the best Padres games of the season?

Channel4SD:

We know u r missing #baseball. Starting in Dec we will show 2010 & vintage Padres games. Which games would you want us to air? #Padres

I'm trying to think of my favorite games and suggest them to Channel 4 for when they air repeats in December.  The only problem is that they all get jumbled in my brain like the scenes in James Bond movies.  I have to look at the 2010 Padres Results on Baseball Reference.

Here's the four I suggested so far:

  1. Apr 12
  2. May 13
  3. Sept 14
  4. Sept 24

What are other entertaining games that you'd like to see again?

I was at the August 1 game

Where Josh Johnson started for the Marlins and Ludwick PH in his Padres debut. The Padres came back to win it. That was definitely a favorite.

No, I don't think you're an idiot. Please don't go trying to prove me wrong about that.

Two other great ones were the night before Chinese Heritage Day (9/24) and Chinese Heritage Day (9/25) against the Reds

I loved the crowd when Tejada was up with a chance to give us the lead and he came through with a single through the 5.5 hole. The crowd was ridiculously loud before and after the hit.

As I said to Drama after we won on Chinese Heritage Day: “A two could walk through that door and she’d look like a ten after a walkoff.”

Of course

Chinese Heritage Day was a Fox game, so it really doesn’t apply to Ch. 4’s question since I don’t think they can air it.

One more. 4/16

It was just against the DBacks, but Eckstein hit a double to tie the game in the bottom of the 9th. And Chase Headley hit a 3 run HR to win it walkoff style.

September 24th – when Miggy hit the 2-run single to give us the lead over the Reds.

I need new pants.

The wiki has an outline of most of the season (I still need to finish it)

Some of the better games are mentioned in that entry: 2010 San Diego Padres Season

April 19th – Scrappy walkoff homerun in the 10th inning.

I remember cracking up when that happened

which makes it much more memorable than Sanchez’s 1-hit loss, although that was very awesome as well.

I've forgotten the day, but the game where Sanchez 1-hit us and we beat him anyway.

That should be aired back-to-back with Mat’s one-hitter (the finest game I’ve ever attended).

Sanchez "1 hitter" was on 4/20

And even though you didn't mention it

The game in SF where we beat Sanchez a few days after he made his statement about sweeping us was on 8/13.

Oh! September 11th!

Heath, Yorvit, and Scrappy end the game with a strike-em-out throw-em-out double play!

I also liked the game at Atlanta

where we got to Billy Wagner in the 9th, and then won it in extras with Nick’s pinch hit double.

I know the Cubs series was shit, but what about the 9/29 game with the Chicken's surprise appearance.

I remember watching that game and the Chicken suddenly appeared while Ludwick was up to bat. All of a sudden, RFL ropes a double to put the Padres on the board. A few innings later, Eckstein ropes a double to Pad the lead. Good guys ended up winning. :-)

Awesome game.

Ehhhh, I don't deserve a signature...

two other good ones:

June 6 – Padres 6, Phillies 5 (F/10)

Adams works out of a jam in the 9th (his second inning), Salad Bar hits the slow single to SS to score in the top of the 10th, TGJr throws out the lead runner at 3rd in the bottom of the 10th

June 2 – Padres 5, Mets 1 (F/11)

Eck hits the game-tying single with two strikes and two outs in the bottom of the 9th off K-Rod, Adrian hits the grand slam to win it in 11

Adrian's

Walk-Off GS

06.02.10

This was the game for me that made me fully realize how special this team was.

Same

And I will replay the vivid image I have of the ball leaving Adrian’s bat over and over again as to how this season went.

Like a few others, June 2nd

It sucks that they never aired this game. I went to this game ready to see a pitcher’s duel between Clayton and Johan and loved every minute of it. I somehow bought tickets for section 312 before they closed off the whole section. For 11 awesome innings, everyone that tried sitting in my section was kicked out and all they could do was look at me like I was some jerk that bought a whole slice of Petco. Eck’s clutchness and Adrian’s brilliance showed me that this was going to be a nice year.

I was at

the Apr 12th and Sept 24th games. I don’t think i sat during the home opener. 17 runs was the most I’ve seen at any baseball game haha. And the game against the Reds down the stretch was pretty awesome too.

Game 162

May 11th-13th

with Latos’ 1-hit performance being the highlight, but they should just play the entire series. It doesn’t get much better than sweeping the Giants for the 2nd time of the year…in May in SF.

June 26th

ending Josh Johnson’s consecutive streak of allowing no more than 1 run a game. Pads won 2-1.

by recorddigger on Oct 6, 2010 7:10 PM PDT reply actions

May 31

18 runs

It resulted in an L

but I really liked the game against the Dbacks when we were down to our last strike and Adrian hit a bomb to tie it up.

Unfortunately (I think it was Luke) we gave up a HR the next inning to lose the game.

Still awesome on Adrians part and the team as a whole for never giving up.

Mat Latos is the real deal...Go Lakers, Pads, and Bolts

Sept. 24

SO fun!
