A lineup or at least close to it for the first 5 to 6 innings, then rotate in bench guys the rest of the game. Charlie wants to get the bench guys at bats, but he’s really concerned about the integrity of the game, too.

I think tomorrow will tell us a lot about Mat
He can shut up and shut down the Giants with a big time performance etching himself as one of the top pitchers in the league. Or (this won’t happen) he could find his inner Jake Peavy and suck in the big game.
Latos is my favorite player and I have a lot of confidence in him that he’ll get it done tomorrow. Hopefully Atlanta loses manana, that would be some kinda nice.

The best outing of Mat's career was a day game at AT&T against Sanchez.
He’ll get it done.
This will tell us a lot about Mat's current level of development,
but will not give us a view into what the mature version of Mr. Latos will be.
He is my favorite too
(I love and respect his story) but he has been struggling of late, be it fatigue or a quiet injury… I hope we see that focused young man again not just for us/the team but for all the personal work he has done too.

I have tons of faith in Mat tomorrow.
But Buddy needs to make an agreement with him- if he let’s his emotions get out-of-hand, he’ll be taken out. Regardless of how well he pitches, Latos needs to stay strong during the challenging moments of the game. That’s the key factor of the game, really.

I'm a White Sox fan first and foremost, but the Pads have been my fave NL team since 1984
when they came back from a two game deficit to win three in a row from the hapless Cubbies in the NLCS. I was pullin’ for ya in the WS back then, and I’d love to see the Pads in there this year.

MLB Network announced tonight that it will cover the regular-season finale between the San Diego Padres and San Francisco Giants at 4 p.m. Sunday.
The Giants lead the NL West by one game over the Padres. The Atlanta Braves and Padres are tied for the NL wild card.

Winning two games is nice and all, but that's not good enough for me
Hell, winning the division with a PHI win would be awesome, but I want more.
Winning the NLDS would be fantastic, but it still won’t satisfy.
Taking on the Phillies and beating them at their own game would be phenomenal, but even that won’t do.
Making it to the World Series…that should be enough, but it just isn’t.

I’m not too worried about him being able to rise to the occasion— he’s handled the Giants before— but if we should clinch tomorrow, expect broken ribs.

Latos is definitely gassed and hit the wall in September
I’d almost rather have Luebke pitch
but it seems Padres pitchers have dug deep and pitched their asses off for 5 of the last 6 games.
The one blip was Latos…who started well, but tired in the 5th.
I hope Buddy has a very very short hook tomorrow

Just got home (Davis) from the game
Man, was that sweet! God bless my Giants-fan uncle (just not tomorrow) who not only paid 60 bucks for a scalped ticket for me, but honored our bet from the Friday night game and cheered with me every time the Pads scored today (best bet ever, btw)!
That place was rocking at the end… right up until our double play. Witnessing that string of extremes + screaming in the face of the jerk behind me who had hit his dirty orange towel on my hat = priceless.

Worked a 4 to midnight shift, missed everything.

I’d much rather SF wins the WC so they can beat PHI for us. Then we can make one final statement that they are the inferior team in the NLCS.
