Wade LeBlanc in Next Years Rotation?
Up until last September, Wade LeBlanc spent most of his time in the big leagues getting hammered by the Dodgers and whoever else he pitched against. Then the tide turned. He threw six innings and gave up no runs against the Dodgers in early September, had a decent September, then pitched the best game of his career on October 3rd against the Giants, seven innings, two hits, no runs, one walk, and eight strikeouts.
Do you guys think LeBlanc can find himself as a regular in the rotation next year or do you think the end of last year was a fluke? Obviously our rotation is thin and we could use a serviceable lefty arm. Also, what do you guys think of Cesar Ramos?

I think LeBlanc has a shot to compete for the 5th starters role
and if the Padres don’t sign/trade for a veteran arm his chances to break into the rotation increase significantly. However, I think LeBlanc is better suited for the pen, he really only has one dominate pitch (change up) and typically pitcher with one dominate pitch are better suited for the pen.
He's got as good a shot as anyone else.
It’s nice to see so many guys with the opportunity to compete for spots in this year’s rotation. Porreda, Richard, Latos, Ramos, Stauffer, LeBlanc, Carrillo… I have no idea who’s going to pan out, but with so many (seemingly) decent prospects I think it’s reasonable to expect that at least one or two of these guys will establish themselves as reliable MLB starters.

I hope
that a few of those guys pan out. I think Latos has the potential to be a star but I will take mediocre year from the rest.

Assuming the following spots are locked
1. Young
2. Latos
3. Correira
He’s in that same group and based on how many people seriously have a shot (Ramos, LeBlanc, Porreda, Mjuica) with Richard and Stauffer the favorites
I would say Gallagher over Mujica
just because you didn’t say his name and Mujica would probably step into Adams’ role in the event of a Bell trade.

me too
any thoughts on Castro coming up mid year like Latos did last year?
"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
Latos was a little more polished
And they did make him prove himself at a couple different levels first. Remember, Latos wasn’t just succeeding in Fort Wayne he was dominating. Castro has all the tools, but his ERA was ~10 times as high as Latos’ at Fort Wayne (being that Latos’ was 0.36, that says more about where Latos was at than Castro). Let the kid feel some solid successes in the minors before throwing him into the deep end.
I'm the first person to admit that I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I'm going to be the last person to admit I'm wrong about what we're currently talking about.
Clayton Richard definitely.

If he's a lock
why wouldn’t Stauffer be one as well? Or at least the front runner for that last spot?

Richard a lock
Definitely should be a lock, he was consistent enough to earn at least that much. If he struggles then move someone up, but he should be 3 or 4 in the rotation.
