"We are incredibly excited to add Mark to our staff," said Executive Vice President/General Manager Jed Hoyer. "He had a long and successful playing career and earned the respect of every team he joined along the way. I was with Mark for one season in Boston and it was clear to me that he could have a great impact on an organization in a front-office role once he finished his playing career. I feel fortunate that the timing of my arrival in San Diego and Mark's retirement coincided and I was eager to bring Mark on-board to help in all aspects of the department."

Awesome!
I had a feeling, but I always liked him and glad to have him back involved with the team.
This is a terrible thing for the Padres. - Jerry Coleman
All my friends know the low rider...
The low rider is a little higher
Low rider drives a little slower
Low rider is a real goer
I’m glad he is back working for the FO instead of being our utility INF’er.
Is very bad to steal Jobu's rum. Is VERY bad.
Now everybody is happy.

XX is definitely paying him for his contributions to the station
He just doesn’t have the cushy studio job (and the corresponding pay). He also works for college football broadcasts in some capacity.
I'm the first person to admit that I'm wrong about a lot of things, but I'm going to be the last person to admit I'm wrong about what we're currently talking about.

I hope Mark is more intelligent

I was thinking Joe Morgan.
Because Mark is now part of our FO, I hope he doesn’t share Morgan’s complete ignorance of the sport he used to play.

I think it's hilarious that Morgan incessantly rips Moneyball
without having read it. He was a success because he did what the book extols—walking a hell of a lot and controlling the strike zone.

Good.
Because if you were talking about Joey Cora, well, do I need to go on?
