PADRES: Padres miss Lincecum, but not another win
"There's a part of me that likes seeing the best pitchers in the game pitch," Padres manager Bud Black said, referring to Lincecum's absence. "We've been playing pretty good ball the last six weeks. It's sort of been a trend of this club all year. Our guys keep it going during the course of the game. We're pesky."

one scout compared Blanks to Carmelo Martinez

Does being three times the athlete than Carmelo count for anything ? Also, Blanks lacks tenacity ? Blanks has as much resolve as any I have seen in a while. Ever see him sprint out of the box on one of his 440 foot blasts ? No tenacity ? How easy did he make the transition to the OF without any experience there, Simply because Seth Etherton owned him once or twice doesn’t mean he wholly lacks tenacity.
