Let's ignore the fast and exciting guy
who can get on base with his speed. Luis Durango basically steals a victory Thursday afternoon, days after the big call-up from double-A. Shows he's someone who in the future might help a club that plays in Petco. Gives an indication that he might be someone who could benefit from some September at-bats for a team that is going nowhere.
Can't wait until this morning's exciting 9:30 start.

In all seriousness. it seems like sometimes the GM and the player development department should sometimes hold meetings with the manager and let him know who they think has a future in the major leagues and who doesn’t. Durango’s future is way brighter than Macias’. Both their futures may only be AAA, but it would take a blind person (who refuses to ask players their age) to think that Macias still has a better future than Durango. To summarize, I have no clue why Buddy plays Macias at all. Well, other than Macias has “a better feel” for the majors. A if that should mean a damned thing on this team.

I think that it’s the “Macias has ‘a better feel’ for the majors” rationale or maybe it’s the ‘We want to take one last look at Macias before we cast him aside" rationale. Truthfully, if you look at Macias’ minor league numbers no rationale makes much sense. Two years ago, at the age of 25 no less, he spent a full year at AA and didn’t even excel there. Of course this year at Portland he hit .233.
Also, god love him, but why is Edgar Gonzalez receiving September platoon starts over Luis Durango ? Not a large sample, but not a tiny one either, E.Gonzalez’ numbers are really bad this year and he will be 32 next summer.
His brother is Adrian Gonzalez?

"Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!"
Luis Durango
Yes, we definitely need to see Durango in the line-up for these last 11 games. It would be nice to see what he can do in the outfield too.
