Tin Caps lead series (2-0) Best of 5
Fort Wayne Highlights:
With one out in the 6th Allen Dykstra hit his 2nd home run of the playoffs and made it 2-0. But this game was mainly about pitching...
Game decided by:
Shutting out the Bees was what decided the game. No Fort Wayne pitcher walked a batter and only 4 hits were allowed. Starter Chris Fetter gave up 3 hits and 4 in the first 5 1/3 innings to earn his first playoff win. Nick Greenwood followed that up with 2 innings, 3 K's and only 1 hit allowed. Alexis Lara was perfect for 2/3 IP and Nick Schumacher got the save with a perfect 9th inning.
The Tin Caps will now travel to Burlington and will only return to Fort Wayne for a game 5 (if necessary). Game 3 is at 7:30 Eastern Thursday September 17 and a Fort Wayne would give them the Midwest League Championship.
