Quick Question to Portland Beavers fans

No snickering, please, I'm going to try and ask this question as innocently as possible.

I want to say that more than a few instances, I've seen someone or someones mention that they lived up in Portland, and followed the Beavers.  Long story short, I like collecting Minor League baseball caps, and I want to get a Portland Beavers hat; no, I don't like ordering them online, because especially with NewEra caps, my hat size can be anywhere form 7 3/8 to 7 1/2, so I am adamant about the necessity to try them on before purchasing.

So what I'm asking is, are the Portland Beavers popular enough to have apparel being sold as far as two hours away, in Astoria, Oregon?  I'm going to be making a weekend trip out to the Northwest, and since I've been to Seattle a bajillion times, I figured I'd rather drive down into Oregon, and see the shore from the rocks.  And since the AAA season is since past, I can't exactly mosey on into PGE and catch a game, so I figured on trying to inquire about getting a Beavers hat while I'm out in Astoria.

It's a long shot, but I'm hoping someone can help a brother out here.

I can't help you

But I can say that I bought myself a Portland Beavers hat this season (from PGE), and it’s amaze!

No

you’re not going to find Beavers hats in Astoria. I went there last year and pretty much the only thing you will find there is Goonies stuff.

crap

Even if I went to like a sporting good store? I mean I love the Goonies and Kindergarten Cop, as a child of the 80s, but I like my MiLB cap collection more.

No wonder nobody likes you, Tuttle... everything's a (Pujols) damn debate.

Yeah

you can try to see if they have them at a sporting goods store but there really isn’t much stuff in Astoria so I’d highly doubt that they would have Beavers hats there. Also of note is that I saw more Timbers, Oregon State, Oregon, Mariners & Seahawks stuff in all the various stores that I went to in Portland. I had to get all my Beavers stuff at PGE Park. So if Beavers stuff is scarce in Portland it makes me think that it will even be scarcer in Astoria. While in Astoria though check out the Rogue Public House. It’s a cool brewery that is right on the pier that was formerly a Bumblebee Tuna factory. Also the drive from Astoria to Portland isn’t that bad at all. I think it was like an hour and half so if you can’t complete your mission in Astoria make the trip to Portland and visit one of the many McMenamins. Oh also….. Goonies Never Say Die.

Dang

Sorry to hear that my chances of getting a Beavers hat are going to have to wait until a future AAA season, I was hoping I’d get lucky at the Goondocks.

Otherwise, thanks for the suggestions of what to check out while in Astoria. I’m not going to pretend like I didn’t know that it was Goonie land going into this trip, and I’ll probably bust out the ol’ Sloth Superman t-shirt when I go out there.

Goonies

hey I’m not going to deny it either…that’s why I went to Astoria. Also go to the tourist center and they are super friendly there and have maps of all the movie locations. Actually next year in June they are having a 25th Anniversary Goonies event where all the cast and crew show up. My old band actually got their name from that movie and were asked to play it so we decided to do a reunion tour.
