Be honest

Did you think you forgot to put up the OT yesterday?

Don’t you need a passport to cross the border now? Just what is involved in this busing?

Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? ◔ヮ◔

Honest

I knew there wasn’t a game. I miss open threads on purpose just to try and make Dex realize that he needs to put them up occasionally.

Yes you need a passport to cross the border. All I know is that the Padres are talking to homeland security.

It's like the "Frame Toby" episode of The Office!

I think it’s better left to letting Mexico sit on the back burner until a) you win back the fans here, and b) the border isn’t on lockdown.

Want to make Mexico happy?

Here’s a good start: Sign Aid to a long-term deal immediately.

Giles
"But," Black added, "it’d be nice for him to get some at-bats this year — a game-winning hit or a diving catch or whatever it might be. It’d be a great moment. It really would be."

Really, Bud? I have zero desire to see Brian in a Padre uniform ever again….not even for ONE at-bat and I actually like the guy.

Is there anyone in the GLB that wants to see him on the field again? Much less think that it would be a “great moment”?

We don't know who that is

We never did. End of story.

THIS IS SO COOL

You really need to anticipate green when creating these beautiful imgs.

DO NOT WANT

DODGERS, RED SOX, YANKEES, BRONCOS, PATRIOTS and RAIDERS all suck. Especially the Dodgers.

by LJbumfool on Sep 11, 2009 11:50 AM PDT up reply actions

the padres should play an exhibition game in TJ

Since we are the closet team to Mexico, there is no excuse as to why we don’t dominate that market.

by Kozak on Sep 11, 2009 10:22 AM PDT reply actions

Many Mexicans are still Dodger fans because of Valenzuela

If you want to dominate the Mexican market you need to get some Mexican star players

ummmmm

What you've just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone on this blog is now dumber for having listened to it. I award you no points, and may God have mercy on our souls.

Maybe you think American born players with Mexican parents count?

Mexican’s generally don’t agree, though that is better than nothing…
Also the view North from Mexico is far different from the view South from SoCal. Most Mexican’s don’t feel particularly close to San Diego despite that fact that in Socal everyone sort of feels like they are close to Mexico.

So playing for the Mexican National Team

Ins’t enough? This isn’t soccer dude.

Go with that then

Sign him long term and market that in Mexico. It was more the idea that since SD is close to border the Padres should have an advantage in Mexico that I was objecting to. Proximity might help in the TJ market, but beyond that it won’t.

Your right, this isn’t soccer, and I think it would be great if a MLB team took a real interest in developing a large scale fanbase in Mexico. Baseball is falling in popularity down here. The Padres may be in the best position to be the team that sparks renewed interest, but it’s not going to be because they are close to the border.

or

just move the stadium to TJ. I’d be okay with that.

Can TJ afford a football stadium?

TJ

I think proximity would be a huge factor if games were easy to attend for fans in TJ. The TJ market is HUGE and worth an attempt to assimilate.

The total population of the region has been estimated to be just over 5 million in 2009, making it the largest bi-national metropolitan area shared between the United States and Mexico.

If successful, this added market could potentially put our organization in the “large market” category. Pipe dreams im sure, but it isn’t impossible.

My guess

is that ’Tec is pointing out that, currently, our ONLY star player is a player born in Mexico.

Drama is an a-hole.

Oops

Okay AG wasn’t born there – got my story confused – but he did live there for a significant part of his youth and considers himself a member of that community.

Something like that.

Adrian is also our most boring star player

I don’t think anybody wants to claim him.
